Heritage Music Night in McConnelsville

McCONELLSVILLE − The Ohio Valley Opry will hold a Heritage Music Night to coincide with Heritage Days Saturday in Downtown McConnelsville. Activities in downtown will be from noon to 5 p.m. and the concert is at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5 p.m.

Fiddles, banjos, and steel guitar is the theme for the night.

Making her first appearance with the OVO staff band will be Libby Hall, 17, from Athens County. Hall is an accomplished fiddle and mandolin player and was recently featured in Bluegrass Standard magazine where she shared her love of performing.

"I love the new experiences music brings," she said. "I love performing when an audience gets into the music. I love the energy and togetherness that it brings. I may be nervous before I go on stage, but when I get up there, it all goes away. It's just me and the music."

The country side of the roster will feature Matt Hansell, from Waterford, Mike Morrison from Marietta, Matt Coleman from Stockport, and The Clarks from Hackney.

Bringing a little bluegrass to the night will be the Midnight Storm band. Made up of musicians from Kentucky and West Virginia, their harmonies and foot stomping melodies will be sure to bring a smile to your face and a tap to your toe.

Tickets are $10, $15 and $20. They are available online at ohiovalleyopry.com or by calling 740-525-9218.
