Hey Buc-ee’s, here’s where you should build your next travel center, say our readers

We asked Star-Telegram readers to tell us their suggestions for Buc-ee’s future expansion plans, and promised to pass their comments along to the company.

Based on the responses, it’s clear that Buc-ee’s fans have thoughts about where the Beaver should build new travel centers!

We heard from so many people all across North Texas, and as far west as Lubbock, Midland and even Colorado. We also received pleas from folks in East Texas and even Arkansas who want to see the big Beaver mascot grace their highways.

But the overwhelming consensus is that Buc-ee’s should take a hard look at the Interstate 20/Interstate 30 corridor west of Fort Worth. More specifically, around Hudson Oaks, Weatherford and Aledo in Parker County.

Said one reader: “It is along the only major interstate coming out of the DFW area that does not have a Buc-ee’s.”

Another added: “Parker County is exploding. It’s a no-brainer to build one along the interstate.”

One reader even looked up traffic data to suggest an I-30 interchage: “Traffic count at this location is 107,677 vehicles per day with ZERO commercial competition. Everyone is moving to Aledo area from Tarrant County, new residential developments are being built all over.”

Here’s a map with all the suggested locations. Click on the icon to read the comments. Thank you to everyone who weighed in.

And yes, we’ve sent this to Buc-ee’s. If they respond, we’ll keep you updated.
