No need to "Dream On" Louisville. Aerosmith has announced a nationwide tour and we now know the iconic rock band will "Walk This Way" on Jan. 7, 2024, with special guest The Black Crowes during its upcoming "Peace Out" tour.

On Monday the band announced its 40-date "Peace Out The Farewell Tour," which starts Sept. 2 in Philadelphia and ends Jan. 26 in Montreal.

Tickets to the Louisville concert at the KFC Yum Center go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketmaster.com. Several VIP packages, including premium seating and a photo op with the band, will also be available.

"I think it's about time," said guitarist Joe Perry in the announcement. "It’s kind of a chance to celebrate the 50 years we’ve been out here."

We first got wind of an upcoming concert tour a couple of weeks ago when rumors swirled that Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and the rest of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band may be announcing a new tour at the beginning of May.

Formed in Boston in 1970, Aerosmith has long been considered one of America’s most important rock bands. Thanks to the powerful vocals of Tyler and the distinct guitar work of Perry, Aerosmith built its fame through live concerts, which continue to showcase the band's talent and energy more than four decades into its career.

The last time we heard from the band was in 2022 when they played a pair of huge shows in Boston and Maine along with a few Las Vegas residency dates. Perry said those concerts convinced the band it was time to bring the toys out of the attic and head "back on the road."

Over the years the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band has collected four Grammys, performed at the 2001 Super Bowl halftime show and even had their own theme park attraction in 1999 at Disney World in Florida and later in Paris with the launch of the "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith" ride.
