'Hey Man, Nice Threads' event today; plus tie-dying

Sep. 3—WILLIMANTIC — Take a trip back to 1972 during the Slice of Life event, "Hey Man, Nice Threads" today. Beginning at 2 p.m., Windham Town Historian Jamie Eves, who is a former executive director of the mill museum, will give a pow- erpoint presentation entitled "Unraveled Threads" at the mill museum. The presentation will be held on the second floor of the Dugan building at the Windham Textile and History Museum. The Dugan building is at 157-B Union St. It will cost $7 for museum members and $10 for non members. Jillson House will hold tie-dying from 12-4 p.m. at the museum, which is at Jillson Square. The Windham Regional Arts Council is holding "Jillson Park Art and Museum Show" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Jillson Square.

More than 20 vendors will sell their homemade goods, featuring sculpture, pottery, jewelry, fabric art and more. There will be artist demonstrations and a Ukrainian Easter egg demonstration. A soundtrack of 70s music will be played from Shaboo Stage.

Admission and parking for the art show will be free.

People are encouraged to wear 70s attire.
