All ProMedica Cancer Institute Radiation Oncology centers recently received full accreditation with zero deficiencies, ProMedica announced this week.

“ProMedica Cancer Institute’s Radiation Oncology program recently underwent an accreditation review and site survey in February by the American College of Radiology,” the Toledo-based health system said in a news release. “ProMedica is pleased to announce the ACR Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation Committee has granted the Radiation Oncology program full accreditation for the maximum allowable period of three years.”

The accredited sites are: ProMedica Hickman Cancer Center in Adrian; ProMedica Monroe Cancer Center; ProMedica Dorothy L. Kern Cancer Center in Fremont, Ohio; ProMedica Hickman Cancer Center - Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio; and ProMedica Maumee Cancer Center in Maumee, Ohio.

Comments from the accreditation report include:

• “Overall this clinic has an outstanding staff and culture of safety, with excellent quality improvement programs – which helps ensure quality care is provided to their patients.”

• “100% of new starts are peer-reviewed, which is commendable given the high volume of patients treated.”

• “Physician charts were well documented, and radiation plans were overall excellent.”
