Hideout Trivia returns this fall to test your knowledge of politics, music ... and Cleveland?

This fall will see the return of Hideout Trivia, the Hideout’s Chicago-centric trivia series sponsored by the Chicago History Museum and the Newberry Library.

On the first Wednesday of the month from September through November, you can grab up to five other friends and compete in three rounds of trivia that will include live interviews, readings, re-enactments and musical performances. Each round reflects a particular theme. Prizes will be given to the teams that finish first, second and third.

“Hideout Trivia rocks because the clever questions cover a huge range of topics, from politics and history to art and music to (for some unknowable reason) Cleveland,” frequent player Bill Savage of Northwestern University said in the announcement. “The questions reward both teamwork and logical deductions. The beer helps too.”

Ticket sales will help support My Block My Hood My City, a nonprofit that mentors underprivileged youth.

The series will be hosted by Paul Durica of the Chicago History Museum and Kristin Emery of the Newberry Library, while Lily Emerson and Charlie Malave will provide the music for the event (including the third round that is always about music).

Though just three trivia nights are scheduled for the fall, the series is slated to return in April 2023.

Doors at 5:30 p.m. and trivia starts at 6 p.m. Sept. 7, Oct. 5 and Nov. 2 at The Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave.; proof of vaccination required for entry, tickets are on a sliding scale of $10-$25 at hideoutchicago.com
