Oct. 20—WINONA, Minn. — This Nick Offerman guy is apparently pretty popular.

Due to strong demand for tickets, Winona State University officials announced that a new date and venue had been set for "A Conversation With: Nick Offerman." Offerman is known for his role as Ron Swanson on NBC's critically acclaimed "Parks & Recreation."

Instead of being held in Harriet Johnson Auditorium, Somsen Hall on the WSU campus, it will take place in the roomier McCown Gym, Memorial Hall. The date and time was also changed to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17.

"The response to this event was genuinely overwhelming," said George Micalone, a member of the WSU organizing committee. "We're excited by the positive response to our event and want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to come see Nick Offerman at Winona State."

All tickets for the original date will be honored on the new date. Refund requests will be honored through Friday, Nov. 3.

Tickets can be purchased at

wsustudentunion.universitytickets.com.

Tickets for WSU students are $10, $15 for WSU faculty and staff and $20 for the public.

In addition, all ticket holders are invited to a book signing with Offerman following the Nov. 14 event. Offerman has published four semi-autobiographical publications, and copies of his latest book, "Where the Deer and the Antelope Play: The Observations of One Ignorant American Who Loves to Walk Outside," will be available for purchase.

Offerman is an award-winning actor, New York Times-bestselling author, and acclaimed woodworker. He won a Television Critics Association Award for Achievement in Comedy for his role as Ron Swanson on "Parks & Recreation." In 2023, he appeared in a standalone episode of HBO's "The Last of Us," for which he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series.

Currently, Offerman is appearing in "Dumb Money," which is in theaters now, and has a leading role in season 4 of Netflix's "Umbrella Academy."

"A Conversation With: Nick Offerman" is sponsored by the Duran Family Speaker Series and is made possible through a generous gift by Denis Duran, a 1970 graduate of Winona State.
