9/11 Flags of Honor
Earlier this month, Victor Valley College students, staff and community volunteers began placing Flags of Honor in advance of September 11 or Patriot Day.
Each Labor Day weekend, VVC places 3,023 symbolic Flags of Honor, provided courtesy of the Victor Valley College ASB, on the hillside adjacent to the campus library.
Flags are also placed at the High Desert “United We Stand” monument located next to the VVC library.
Attached to each flag is a hand-written card by students, which includes the name of one of the deceased from the 9/11 tragedy.
