These Arizona resorts are home to 4 of the best hotel bars and restaurants in the US

Food & Wine debuted its Global Taste Makers Awards, a readers' poll that recognizes "the very best culinary hotels, restaurants, cruises, airlines, cities, and more categories around the world." Two Arizona hotels made the cut on lists of the 10 best hotel bars and 10 best hotel restaurants in the U.S. where they share the spotlight with the likes of Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons and Bellagio.

Readers voted on the following categories: restaurants and bars, cities, hotels, airports, airlines and cruises traveled to within the past three years. The publication included an editor's pick in every category.

"The inaugural FOOD & WINE Global Tastemakers Awards will help our readers plan their destinations and itineraries to upgrade their experiences as they plan their trips for the year ahead," Food & Wine Editor in Chief Hunter Lewis wrote in a press release. "Congratulations to this year's honorees."

For Food & Wine's list of "The 10 Best Hotel Bars in the U.S.," readers voted on ingredient-driven cocktails, unapologetic elegance and bars that transported them to another place and time. "These ten outposts will whip up wonder in the glass, or just provide you with a darn fine pour of local craft beer on draft," the list notes.

These Arizona hotel bars made the top 10:

Cress Bar at L'Auberge de Sedona

Cress Bar made the list for its cocktails and a large collection of wines and whiskies. Some of the drinks mentioned were green apple pie, adult versions of creamsicles and the Duck Hunter, which is an Old Fashioned made with rum, amaro, and Irish whiskey.Details: 301 L'Auberge Lane, Sedona. 855-905-5745, lauberge.com.

Weft & Warp and Turquoise Pool Bar at Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows

Both Turquoise Pool Bar & Grille and Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen at Andaz were named in the "best hotel bars" list. The beverage menu at these watering holes isn't as large as Cress Bar's, but the drinks deliver on taste. The Nebbiolo wine, berry-infused amaro sour and tequila highball infused with peppers and radish were mentioned.

The next category where Arizona hotels succeeded was "The 15 Best Hotels for Food in the U.S."

Cress on Oak Creek at L'Auberge de Sedona

In addition to its refined cuisine, Cress offers a beautiful woodland setting, according to Food & Wine. The menu is inspired by southern European cuisine, including Spain, Italy and France. Cress Bar's mussels meunière and the cheeseburger with smoked cheddar and paprika aioli on a brioche bun also received nods.

Weft & Warp at Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows

Weft & Warp's chef Dushyant Singh created a menu that weaves together the different Mediterranean cuisines from Turkey to Morocco. The restaurant's house-made pasta got a mention. Food & Wine suggested the six-course tasting menu. Don't skip desserts.
