High-Rise: Tom Hiddleston and Luke Evans Star In Exclusive New Clip

This week sees the release of Ben Wheatley’s ‘High-Rise’.

The adaptation of JG Ballard’s dystopian 1975 novel, starring Tom Hiddleston, Luke Evans, Sienna Miller, and Jeremy Irons hits cinemas on Friday and to celebrate Studiocanal has given us an exclusive never-before-seen clip from the film featuring T-Hidds as the louche Dr. Laing and Evans as documentary filmmaker Richard Wilder.

Wilder is paying a visit to his new neighbour’s apartment pleading with him to introduce him to “the architect” of the tower block they both inhabit as he thinks there’s something fishy going on in the building and he wants to investigate.

Hiddleston’s star is on the rise at the moment thanks to his starring role in the BBC One spy drama ‘The Night Manager’, and his fans will be keen to check him out in ‘High-Rise’ as it features a scene with him sunbathing naked, but be warned: Dr. Laing is a far cry from Loki, as the film’s official synopsis reveals.

1975. Two miles west of London, Dr. Robert Laing moves into his new apartment seeking soulless anonymity, only to find that the building’s residents have no intention of leaving him alone. Resigned to the complex social dynamics unfolding around him, Laing bites the bullet and becomes neighbourly.

As he struggles to establish his position, Laing’s good manners and sanity disintegrate along with the building. The lights go out and the lifts fail but the party goes on. People are the problem. Booze is the currency. Sex is the panacea. Only much later, as he sits on his balcony eating the architect’s dog, does Dr. Robert Laing finally feel at home.”
