Here are the high school athletes of the week winners for Jan. 10-16
The Des Moines Register's latest athletes of the week installment for winter 2021-22 has concluded.
Boys high school athlete of the week
On the boys' side, Denver basketball standout Caylor Hoffer took home top honors. He picked more than 39% of the recorded votes and beat out:
Theo Klaes, Riceville basketball
Casey Gardner, Dunkerton basketball
Hogan Franey, Martensdale-St. Marys basketball
Pryce Sandfort, Waukee Northwest basketball
Girls high school athlete of the week
On the girls' side, Springville basketball standout Lauren Wilson took home top honors. She picked up a staggering 96% of the recorded votes and beat out:
Paige Klocke, Glidden-Ralston basketball
Hannah Stuelke, Cedar Rapids Washington basketball
Sydney Hurd, Storm Lake St. Mary's basketball
Emma Rector, Chariton basketball
