High school basketball: The Bee’s rankings, including one team securing a repeat — again

There were some changes in The Fresno Bee high school basketball rankings as this is the last week of the regular season.

Sanger dropped five spots to No. 21 after losses to San Joaquin Memorial and Edison.

Sierra moved up two spots to No. 18 after wins over Caruthers, Fowler and Kerman.

Corcoran is now No. 19 after being slotted at No. 22. The Panthers picked up three wins last week.

No. 20 Hoover picked up a big win over Roosevelt to take sole possession of first place in the North Yosemite League.

The Patriots next faces No. 16 Sunnyside at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in another NYL showdown.

No. 2 Clovis North and No. 3 Clovis West boys will meet again at 7 p.m. Friday. The Broncos lead the Tri-River Athletic Conference by one game over the Golden Eagles.

Clovis North won the earlier matchup.

No. 4 Bullard already clinched a tie for the County/Metro Athletic Conference title with a win over Madera. The Knights can secure the CMAC title outright with a win over Edison.

On the girls side, despite losing a tough game to No. 3 Monache, San Joaquin Memorial moves up two spots to No. 5 after defeating Sanger and Garza earlier in the week.

Against the Marauders, the Panthers narrowly lost 62-59.

Monache is now 25-2.

Clovis West (25-2) remains No. 1 after winning the Tri-River Athletic Conference title for the 19th straight time.

TRAC foe Central dropped four spots to No. 10 after losing to Buchanan. The Bears moved up two spots to No. 7 despite losing to Clovis West.

No. 5 San Joaquin Memorial and No. 6 Bullard will meet on Friday. The Panthers need a win to outright clinch a County/Metro Athletic Conference championship unless the Knights lose to Edison on Tuesday and the Panthers win their game.
