Tuesday’s #BIG5 top performers
Margaret Blythe, Charlotte Country Day girls: Blythe had a team-high 16 points in a 51-46 win over High Point Wesleyan. The Bucs, No. 13 in The Observer’s Sweet 16 poll, limited Wesleyan (13-6) to just two points in the fourth quarter, rallying from being down 44-37 at the end of the third.
Alex Kornacki, Concord Academy: In a 59-35 win over Metrolina Christian, Kornacki had 15 points, six rebounds and two blocks.
Onor Kurucu, Porter Ridge: In a 52-47 win over Monroe on Tuesday night, the sophomore had the first double-double of his career (11 points, 10 rebounds).
Brycen Redmon, Westminster Catawba: Redmon had 18 points, six assists in a 57-55 win over Gaston Christian.
Justin Rushin, Westminster Catawba: Rushin scored six points in a 57-55 win over Gaston Christian, but hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer to give his team its eighth straight win.
