High school boys basketball: 2023 Class 2A team-by-team preseason capsules
The 2023-24 high school boys basketball season gets underway this week, with the fall sports season heading into its final week. To prepare fans for the upcoming season, the Deseret News has compiled capsules for every team in 2A. Every coach was invited to participate and submit information.
The region rankings are based on coaches’ preseason projections.
There are nine new head basketball coaches in 2A this year: Ben Byrd (Grand), Easton Nielson (San Juan), Kevin Biel (CS), David Reichner (Merit Academy), Kyler Welsh (Utah Military Camp Williams), Dan Baldwin (Draper APA), Chad Loosemore (St. Joseph), Braxton Syrett (Millard) and Trever Smith (Parowan).
