High school boys basketball: Burke Catholic's Jake DeMaro voted Varsity 845 Player of the Week

Burke Catholic's Jake DeMaro was voted the winner of the Varsity 845 High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week, for games played Feb. 7 - Feb. 13

DeMaro recorded 31.63% of the online voting conducted Monday and concluding Wednesday afternoon. Warwick's Harrison Neil finished second with 28.24%. Newburgh Free Academy's Jah'Likai King was third at 13.36%.

A total of 5,257 votes went to DeMaro out of the 16,620 that were cast this week.

DeMaro registered a game-high 27 points in a 51-42 win over James I. O'Neill. That was O'Neill's first loss since Dec. 23.

High school boys basketball: Finalists for Player of the Week

Last week's winner was DJ Brown of Goshen.
