High school boys basketball: Kingston's McCardle voted Varsity845 Player of the Week

Kingston's Ryan McCardle was voted the winner of the Varsity 845 High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week, for games played Jan. 17 - Jan. 23.

McCardle recorded 34.56% of the online voting conducted Monday and concluding Wednesday afternoon. James I. O'Neill's Ben Aprilante finished second with 30.16%. Washingtonville's Brenden Graham was third at 18.96%.

Boys basketball: Kingston steps up when needed to earn team win over Monroe-Woodbury

A total of 7,688 votes went to McCardle out of the 22,244 that were cast this week.

McCardle made five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points in a 76-65 league win over Monroe-Woodbury. He added 13 points in a 64-61 league win over Middletown as well.

Last week's winner was Pedro Rodriguez of Monticello.
