High school district golf roundup: Ponte Vedra boys, girls cruise to victory, Nease boys roll
The Ponte Vedra High boys golf team began their quest to add to two state records when they won the District 3-2A tournament on Monday at the Fernandina Beach Golf Course by 16 shots over Bishop Kenny.
The Sharks were led by medalist Camden Smith with a 69. Brock Blais and Rohan Singh both shot 71 and Stefan Ink had a 74.

Carson Brewer wanted more competition. He got it with the state champion Ponte Vedra Sharks
Cody Tucker and Evan Raynor of Kenny both shot 70 to tie for second behind Smith. Tanner Millar had a 74 to lead Fernandina Beach to the final team qualifying spot.
Ponte Vedra, Kenny and Fernandina will play in the Region 1-2A tournament Nov. 1 at the Perdido Bay Golf Club in Pensacola.
The Sharks are going after an eighth overall state championship and a sixth in a row. They already hold both records.
In other boys district tournaments:
District 3-3A: Nease placed all four scoring players among the top-10, led by co-medalist Jackson Klauk with a 1-under 70 at Fleming Island, as the Panthers defeated the host team by 12 shots.
The Panthers' Ryan Nicholson finished fifth with a 72, Chase McBride was eighth with a 75 and Ryan Gear ninth with a 76.
Bryson Hughes of Creekside and Brody Stevenson of Bartram Trail tied Klauk for medalist. Fletcher's Jackson Runquist finished fourth with a 71 to lead the Senators to the final team spot but it was close: Atlantic Coast was one shot behind, Bartram Trail another shot back and Creekside still one more shot in arrears.

District 2-2A: Chase Carroll of Middleburg was the medalist with a 71 and Lake City Columbia finished second in the team standings to Tallahassee Lincoln, at the Country Club of Lake City. Connor Williams led the Tigers with a 78.
District 4-2A: Tocoi Creek's Joey Hage shot 71 to win the individual title and led the Toros to the team championship by four shots over Beachside -- whose four scoring players all shot 77. Luke Splane (74) and David Brothers of St. Augustine (75) advance to the Region 1 tournament at individuals.
District 3-1A: Keystone Heights won at the Quail Heights Country Club by 23 shots over Mayo Lafayette. The Indians were led by Alexander Addington with a 75).
District 4-1A: Luke Balaskiewicz won the individual title with a 70 and teammate Dylan Ma tied for second with a 72 as the Bulldogs defeated Episcipal by eight shots at Hidden Hills. Henry Robards shot 72 for the Eagles and Miles Russell of Providence led the Stallions to the third qualifying spot with a 72.
Girls
District 3-3A: Bartram Trail won the team title by 12 shots at the St. Johns Golf and Country Club over Fleming Island, with Lizzie Thompson and Helena Rios both recording 81s. Alyzabeth Morgan of Fleming Island was the medalist with a 78. Nease clinched the third qualifying spot behind Shanya Arasu, who finished second to Morgan with an 80.
District 3-2A: Nancy Cox shot 70 to lead the Sharks to a 74-shot victory over Stanton at the Fernandina Beach Golf Course. Stella Moritz was second with a 75. Bishop Kenny is the third team qualifier.
District 4-1A: Bolles won the team title by 33 shots over Episcopal at Hidden Hills, as Violet Robbins won the individual title with a 72, followed by teammate Madison Balaskiewicz with a 75. Sofia Davila led Episcopal with an 83. Providence clinched the third spot in the regionals, led by Emma Wells with an 84.
District 2-2A: Ashley Nelson shot 73 and Veona Osborne 76 to lead Columbia to a dominant 82-shot victory over Live Oak Suwannee, at Quail Heights. Clay clinched the third team spot, led by Taylor Young's 78.
District 4-2A: Beachside finished only six shots behind district champion Matanzas at the Palatka Golf Club, with Ralienne Nacional coming in second individually with a 76 and teammate Maddie Rathjen a shot behind with a 77.
District 3-1A: Candace Jackson led Keystone Heights with a 77 as the Indians won by 91 shots over Branford.
