HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Clark County tops Southern, 43-13

Aug. 27—Nathan Hutchinson

Junior Jayshaun Ethridge had a pair of touchdowns — one receiving and one rushing — as Madison Southern (0-2) was handed a 43-13 loss by Clark County (2-0) on Friday in Winchester.

The start of the game was delayed by almost an hour because of lightning.

When things got going, the Cardinals took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

The Eagles answered back, though.

Ethridge caught a 17-yard touchdown pass with 10:39 left in the second quarter. Clark County scored four more times before the half and took a 43-7 lead into the break.

Ethridge had a 5-yard TD run in the second half.

The Eagles have lost six-straight games — a streak which runs back to last season.

Southern will look to snap that skid on Friday at home against Madison Central.
