In the most competitive Athens-area high school football Player of the Week voting of the season, East Jackson's Gary Maddox III beat out teammate Drew Richardson by mere percentage points.
The Eagles' senior garnered 48.9% of the votes to the freshman Richardson's 48.7%.
In East Jackson’s 41-34 victory over Providence Christian, Maddox had two touchdown runs.
Player of the Week will conclude with next week's selection.
