High school football roundup: Plummer, LaVille making some noise, remains undefeated

Lucas Plummer completed 6-of-7 passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns as Class 2A, No. 5-ranked LaVille blanked Winamac, 41-0, in high school football Friday night.

Plummer also kicked five PATs.

Paul DeWitt had 12 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown for the Lancers while Collin Czarnecki had a 101-yard interception return for a TD and Cody Allen had a 30-yard pick six.

LaVille defense for three interceptions altogether.

Mishawaka 37, Goshen 6

Novell Miller ranked for three touchdowns as Class 5A, No. 3-ranked Mishawaka stayed unbeaten with a win over Northern Lakes Conference rival Goshen.

Grant Jablonski and Will Schallioll each scored a TD for the Cavemen, now 4-0.

Cincinnati St. Xavier 35, Penn 10

Cincinnati St. Xavier took Penn's first punt of the game in for a 66-yard touchdown and never let off the gas as the Kingsmen fell to the Ohio powerhouse.

Nolan McCullough completed a 14-yuard pass to Gage Goralski for Penn's only TD of the late in the third quarter with a running clock already started. Grant Mallery had a 29-yard field goal for Penn's only other score.

Riley 42, Clay 0

Using the Senior Night energy to its favor, South Bend Riley ran away from cross-town rival Clay at Jackson Field.

The Wildcats were paced by quarterback Austin White and wide receiver Caleb Francis. White had three passing TDs and one rushing while Francis two TDs.

Riley improves to 2-2 while Clay falls to 0-4.

Triton 51, Bremen 10

Anthony Schuh had 16 carries for 219 yards and five touchdowns as Triton pounced over Bremen. Schuh's dazzling performance including a 72-yard run for a score.

Cole Shively also ran 10 times for 149 yard, one touchdown and kick five PATS.

Triton is now 3-1 and Bremen falls to 2-2.

Wawasee 45, Plymouth 28

Brandon Kelly rushed 20 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns as Wawasee beat Plymouth.

For Plymouth, Exzander Ramirez completed 11 of 22 passes for 157 yards and a touchdown and rushed for a TD. Blake Mackey had 95-yard kickoff return for a Rockies' TD.

Warsaw 19, Concord 0

Grady Nolin, Reed Zollinger and German Flores-Ortega each scored for Warsaw. The Tigers are 4-0 while Concord drops to 1-3.

Buchanan 48, Dowagiac 22

Connor LeGualt had two rushing touchdowns and one passing TD as Buchanan beat Dowagiac. LeGualt was 6-of-8 for 61 yards. He also rushed for 61 yards.

Nico Finn was the Bucks leading rusher with 86 yards while Leland Payne had 61 yards and one touchdown. Jack Ruth also had a pair of TDs for Buchanan.

Brandywine 21, Saugatuck 7

Owen Hulett passed for two touchdowns and rushed for another as Brandywine beat host Saugatuck.

Hulett completed 5-of-6 passes for 60 yards and carried the ball 10 times for 37 uards. Carter Sobecki was Brandywine's lead rusher with 68 yards. Michael Palmer caught two passes for 33 yards and a TD while Brock Dye had the other TD reception.
