High school football: Here are the scholar-athletes who made the Golden Dozen cut

The Westchester Chapter of the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame on Monday announced its 50th annual Golden Dozen picks, an honor reserved for 12 of the region's top high school football scholar-athletes from the 2022 season.

Another 13 standouts made the honorable-mention list.

The composite player earned all-state recognition, is a two-sport captain, maintains a 3.95 grade point index and plays a leadership role in the school and community. The Westchester Chapter of the NFF has honored more than 600 members of the Golden Dozen since 1974 and awarded more than $600,000 in scholarship grants named in honor of Chris Mello, Anthony Sabella, Bill Draddy along with fellowships honoring former longtime board member Michael Perry.

An upcoming banquet will celebrate the recipients.
