High school football: See the 29 local players named to the small-school all-state teams

The standout performers on Section 1's Class B, C and D champions and the area's top recruit were among the players celebrated as all-state selections when the New York State Sportswriters Association released its small-school teams Wednesday.

Five different players from Class B champion Pleasantville were chosen, including Section 1's Class B Player of the Year, sophomore Daniel Picart.

Section 1 Class C champ Dobbs Ferry landed four players on the all-state team, headlined by junior workhorse Brian Dann, the section's Class C/D Player of the Year.

And Class D winner Tuckahoe landed three players on the list, including first-team picks Michael Meyers and John Benke.

The Class AA and A all-state teams are scheduled to be released on Jan. 19. Here's a look at the 29 local players chosen all-state in Classes B, C and D:
