High school girls basketball: Medina stuns Wadsworth with late 3-pointer by Hailey Tripp

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Medina 48, Wadsworth 46

Hailey Tripp buried a game-winning 3-pointer with 12 seconds remaining to stun the visiting Grizzlies on Wednesday night.

The 3-pointer capped a 15-point game for Tripp. Sophomore teammate Olivia Klanac notched a game-high 20 points for Medina (1-0).

Wadsworth got behind early before going on a 14-0 run that included shutting out the Bees in the second quarter to grab a 24-16 halftime lead. Ciena Matheny led the Grizzlies (1-1) with 14 points.

St. Vincent-St. Mary 46, Dalton 34

Cameron Jones, Kendal Batchik and Jazmin Torres combined for 37 points as the Fighting Irish downed the Bulldogs.

Batchik drained two 3-pointers on her way to 12 points and Jones also had a 3-pointer en route to a team-high 14 points.

Manchester 64, Springfield 36

Mackenzie Moss scored a career-high 28 points to lead the Panthers to victory.

Corinne Hite and Abby White each scored nine points for Manchester (1-1).

Victoria Field led the Spartans (0-2) with 10 points and five rebounds.
