High school graduation ceremonies scheduled

May 29—There will be opportunities for playing "Pomp and Circumstance," hugs and handshakes, tossing mortarboard hats and receiving diplomas as several Rockwall area high schools celebrate their graduating classes.

* Graduation exercises are scheduled for Rockwall High School at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1 at the at the Curtis Culwell Center, 4999 Naaman Forest Boulevard in Garland. The Curtis Culwell Center is located near the intersection of North Garland Avenue and the President George Bush Turnpike

— The Curtis Culwell Center will also be the site of graduation ceremonies for Royse City High School at 7 p.m. May 31, for Rockwall Heath High School at 7 p.m. June 2.

Parking for the center is $10 each and must be pre-paid online. Tickets for the event will be scanned upon entry. VIP parking is $25.

The facility utilizes security metal detectors and wanders screening for prohibited items and is a Garland ISD facility. Smoking is prohibited on the property, along with items including weapons of any kind, outside food and beverages, and wrapped gifts. Only clear bags are allowed inside the facility.

Visitors can purchase a DVD of the event and also order flowers for the graduates and "shout outs" which will appear on the video display during the ceremony.

The graduation ceremony for the Rockwall Quest Academy was held the night of May 26 at the Rockwall-Heath High School Performing Arts Center.
