Apr. 29—HAMLINE ELITE MEET

—For the second straight year, the Century 4x100 relay team captured the title in the prestigious Elite Meet at Hamline University. The combination of Favor Omoijuanfo, Madison Habberstad, Clara Gerhard and Megan Lund won the race in 49.35. Blooming Prairie junior Annaka Forsberg also captured a first place, clearing 5-feet-5 in the high jump. GMLOKS' Anika Reiland ran a 25.65 200 for second place. Mayo's Hannah Hanson finished third in the 100 hurdles (14.93) and fifth in the 300 hurdles (46.13). Austin's Olivia Walsh was fourth in the triple jump (35-feet-9 1/4) and Century's Elise Jensen was seventh in the discus (115-3). Austin's Laura Bekaert was eighth in the shot put (36-0).

HAMLINE ELITE MEET

—Century senior Nathan Nelson placed second in the pole vault in the prestigious Elite Meet at Hamline University. Nelson cleared 14-feet-4. Winning the event was Rockford's Brian Schloeder, going a meet-record 15-9. Nelson cleared 15-6 1/4 earlier this season. Red Wing's Thomas Lamkin was fourth in the 100 (10.96), St. Charles' Chris Hilton was fourth in the 300 hurdles (40.61) and Mayo's Adam Myren was fourth in the high jump (6-feet-4). Stewartville's Peyton Byrne had a throw of 53-4 in the shot put which was good for fifth. Tigers teammate Torasbjorn Lunaas was eighth in the discus (143-11) and ninth in the shot put (51-1), and Mayo's Lucas Peterson was ninth in the pole vault (12-10).

HIAWATHA VALLEY LEAGUE

—Byron exploded for eight, six and five runs in the first three innings as it blew past Lake City 19-2. Macy Borowski had a home run, a double and four RBIs. Leah Strain went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs.

—Alayna Leighton went 3-for-3 with two doubles and six RBIs in Stewartville's 17-0 win over Goodhue. Tressa Smith pitched all four innings of the game, allowing no hits and three walks.

SOUTHEAST CONFERENCE

—Houston moved to a perfect 6-0 with an easy 13-1 win over Spring Grove. Nicole Beckman, Lilly Carr, Olivia Beckman, Emily Botcher, Caitlin Brand and Olivia Yohe all had two hits for the Hurricanes. Carr tossed a one-hitter in the five-inning game.

NON-CONFERENCE

—Lourdes got five runs in the second inning and five more in the fifth in beating GMLOK 13-7. Leah Wieneke went 3-for-4 for the Eagles and Grace Boysen and Allison Ritter each had two hits for Lourdes.

—Cami Elzen had a home run and a double in guiding Stewartville to a 6-4 win over Caledonia.

—Pine Island scored twice in the seventh to tie the game and twice in the eighth to take the lead before Smiley scored three times in the bottom of the eighth for a high-scoring 15-14 extra-inning win. Cheyenne Jones went 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and two runs scored for Pine Island and Annika Organ was 2-for-5 with three RBis and two runs scored.

SOUTHEAST CONFERENCE

—Zach Brumm had three RBIs and Elijah Solum went 2-for-4 with a double in guiding Spring Grove to a 6-2 win over GMLOK.

NON-CONFERENCE

—Lourdes earned its first win of the season, using big games from Nick Bowron and Ben Reiland to beat non-conference foe Caledonia 4-0 at Mayo Field. Bowron had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run. Reiland was the winning pitcher. He went all seven innings and allowed six hits, no walks and struck out three. Easton Gasner also had two hits. Owen Denstad had two for Caledonia.

—Randolph got a home run and a one-hitter from Tayven Geiger as it beat Pine Island 3-0.

—Dover-Eyota's Karsen Behnken had two hits and Gavin Gust tripled in the Eagle's 4-3 win over Kenyon-Wanamingo. Alex Lee had two hits for K-W.

—Rushford-Peterson outlasted Houston, winning 13-11. No statistics were submitted from R-P. Zach Olson had three hits, including a pair of doubles and three RBIs, for Houston.

—Cannon Falls eased to a 6-5 win over Minneapolis Southwest. Ari Wells had two hits for the Bombers. Aaron Melhouse doubled and drove in two runs.

—Parker Rodman was 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs and Lake City scored five times in the top of the sixth to nip Plainview-Elgin-Millville 5-4. Jameson Brinkman was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for P-E-M.
