High school media poll: All No. 1's stay the same after weekend of boys basketball 1-2 matchups

After three No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchups in South Dakota boys high school basketball last weekend, all six No. 1 teams across boys and girls basketball remained intact.

Roosevelt in Class AA defeated No. 2 O'Gorman, while Dakota Valley and De Smet beat the No. 2 teams in Class A and Class AA, respectively, to remain at the top of the ranking. Class AA's O'Gorman, Class A's St. Thomas More and Class B's White River, who entered the weekend the No. 2 team in each class, held onto their No. 2 spots despite taking losses.

Jefferson boys basketball moved into the poll after not receiving votes a week ago, checking in at No. 5 in Class AA.

In girls basketball, the rankings stayed entirely the same, though Lakota Tech is inching nearer to the Class A top-5 ranking. The Tatanka had 11 points in the poll, just two behind No. 15 St. Thomas More's 13.
