High school musicals this week: See 'Hello Dolly,' 'Addams Family,' 'Footloose'

Sometimes, it's good to learn that there's a world outside of Yonkers, and that is the lesson to be learned onstage this week at Yonkers' neighbor to the east.

'Hello Dolly' at Bronxville High School

Bronxville High School puts on its Sunday clothes and welcomes "Hello, Dolly!" — the story of what happens when Yonkers' most-eligible bachelor meets his match in a matchmaking widow. Performances are at 5 p.m., Feb. 9 and 7 p.m., Feb. 10 and 11. Tickets are $20 at the door or at www.eventbrite.com.

'Footloose' at Mamaroneck High School'

In Mamaroneck, the tiny dance-forbidding town of Bomont is put on its ear when Ren McCormack moves to town in "Footloose." Performances are at 6 p.m., Feb. 9 and at 7 p.m., Feb. 10 and 11. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, at the door or www.showtix4u.com.

'The Addams Family' at Rye Country Day School

Meanwhile, at Rye Country Day School, audiences will find out what life is like when you're an Addams, in "The Addams Family," based on the Charles Addams cartoon and the campy television show and feature films. Performances at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 10 and 11. Tickets range from $5 to $24 and are available at ci.ovationtix.com/36355.

The musical season takes a pause next weekend and returns Feb. 23-25 with "Zombie Prom," the story of a different sort of dance, and the most persistent zombie in the history of Enrico Fermi High School. The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry stages "Zombie Prom" Feb. 23-25.
