A dozen boys teams and 11 girls teams will play in FHSAA regional golf tournaments on Monday and Tuesday, at sites spanning the entire expanse of the Florida panhandle from the First Coast to Pensacola.

The tournaments begin on Monday with two of the three regions at area courses, the Region 1-1A boys at the Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach; and the Region 1-1A girls at the Windsor Parke Golf Club.

The Region 1-3A boys will be in Volusia County at the Golf Club of Cypress Head in Port Orange.

Ten of the 23 teams in regional action won their district titles and three schools won districts in both boys and girls' competition, Ponte Vedra, Bolles and Keystone Heights.

There will be 115 players competing with their teams and another 26 who qualified as individuals, for a total of 141. The top-three teams in each regional and the top-three individuals not on those teams will advance to the state tournaments in November at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills.

The Class 3A tournament is Nov. 8-9, the Class 1A is Nov. 11-12 and the Class 2A is Nov. 15-16.

The Sharks girls, led by Nancy Cox (70), were 22-over 310 at Fernandina.

In addition to Smith, Blais and Singh, seven other boys golfers posted under-par rounds in district tournaments, Cody Tucker and Evan Raynor of Bishop Kenny (both with 70 at Hidden Hills), Luke Balaskiewicz of Bolles (70 at Hidden Hills), Jackson Klauk of Nease, Brody Stevenson of Bartram Trail, Bryson Hughes of Creekside (all with 70 at Fleming Island) and Chase Carroll of Middleburg (71 at the Country Club of Lake City).
