Ponaganset's Tyler Bellem heads a ball away from an Exeter-West Greenwich player during a game last month. On Monday, the Chieftains played Johnston and came away with a 2-1 victory.

BOYS SOCCER

Ponaganset 2, Johnston 1: Trailing 1-0 on a goal by the Jacob Muller (Marlin Soto assist) in the first half, the Chieftains answered with goals by Ryan Shields and Jake Carlos in the second half and came away with the win in Division III. Alessio Herrera had 6 saves in goals for Ponaganset while Johnston's Justin Espinal had 11 stops.

GIRLS SOCCER

PCD 3, Central Falls 0: Lilly Allcock scored twice and Olivia Foster added another — all unassisted — as Providence Country Day (9-1-1) blanked Central Falls (4-7) in Division IV. PCD's Anna Shamgochian had 2 saves and the Warriors' Isabella Agudelo stopped 8 shots. With four games left, the Warriors are looking for one more point to qualify for postseason play.

Toll Gate 2, Cranston East 1: First-half goals by Kara Yelman and Jadyn Moore proved to be enough as the Titans escaped with a victory. Alany Avila's goal with an assist from Tia Sanzaro cut the lead in half in the second frame, but that would be the only tally the Thunderbolts could muster. Goaltender Bella Dupret helped keep CE in the game, amassing 14 saves.

Lincoln School 3, Shea 0: Susannah Duggan scored three goals and Hevin Stanford, Mia Izzy and Maya Longo each recorded an assist as the Lynx blanked the Raiders behind the shutout goaltending of Lucy Lenny (7 saves).

Moses Brown 5, Middletown 1: Janiya Campo found the back of the net three times and teammates Camila Leiva and Gabi Castano added one goal each as the Quakers cruised to victory. Brie Colangelo and Ella Reid pitched in with an assist each for MB. Riley Clare had the lone goal for the Islanders and teammate Taylor Bridges had 13 saves in net.
