Late Wednesday

Crestwood 3, West Geauga 1

In a game knotted 1-1 since the first inning, the visiting Red Devils broke the long-standing stalemate with Erin Hallis' two-run single in the seventh.

That was enough for Bella Hunter, who set the Wolverines down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the seventh. In addition to scattering four hits and a walk in a complete-game victory, Hunter also homered for Crestwood in the first.

Aimee Barnauskas sparked the Red Devils in the seventh with a leadoff double, with Maddy Dustman putting runners on the corners with an infield hit. Dustman then took second, setting up Hallis' game-winning hit.

Aurora 10, Highland 5

Down 4-2 entering the bottom of the fifth, the Greenmen put up back-to-back four-run innings to take control in a Suburban showdown.

Sophie Retton accounted for the first four-run inning, blasting a go-ahead grand slam in the fifth.

Sophie Schechterman was similarly instrumental, going 3-for-3, while McKennah Metzger rebounded from a three-run third to allow just two runs the rest of the day and finished with 12 strikeouts.

Jack Batten led the Rockets with two hits, including a double.

Tallmadge 12, Roosevelt 2

The visiting Blue Devils cemented a battle for first place in the Suburban American with a six-run sixth.
