HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Avon girls basketball tops Holbrook at home to wrap up regular season

Kylie Mallett scored 12 points to lead a balanced attack Thursday night as the Avon High girls basketball team closed out the regular season with a 46-43 home win over Holbrook.

Dahlia Parent added 11 points for the Panthers (11-7). Uwa Idada (10 points), Hanelie Cadet (7) and Kylie Andersen (6) rounded out the scoring.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Abington 55, West Bridgewater 38: Seniors Mary Klein (6 points, 8 rebounds, 10 steals), Kenzie Litzenberger (4 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals), Sarah Flanagan (4 rebounds) and Sarah Deveney (3 rebounds) starred for the Green Wave (10-11) on Senior Night. WB (10-10) was led by Jenella Jacobs (11 points), Dorothea McGrath (9) and Grace Polen (8).

Notre Dame Academy 50, Boston Latin 39: Freshman Elle Orlando hit seven 3-pointers en route to scoring 23 points as the Cougars (12-6) won on the road. Sophomore Ava Orlando (17 points) and junior Lola Paradis (5 points) also contributed. NDA has won four in a row and seven of its last eight since a three-game losing streak last month.

Fontbonne Academy 60, Bellingham 19: Junior Lilly Blow had 17 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals as the Ducks (12-6) won on the road. Senior Colleen Fogarty (18 points), sophomore Maggie Bedard (12 points) and senior Alix Abelard (11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 assists) also contributed.

Rockland 61, North Quincy 41: Zariah Ottley scored 21 points, and Sydney Blaney added 12 points and 9 rebounds as the Bulldogs (17-2) won on Senior Night. Maddy Hermenau (10 points, 6 steals) and Charlie Kelleher (9 points) also contributed. Ava Bryan scored 16 points for NQ, and Autumn O'Campos added 11.

Norwell 52, Dover-Sherborn 48: Seniors Sara Cashin (18 points) and Chloe Richardson (13) led the Clippers (16-2) to a non-league road win. Sophomores Reagan Dowd (9 points) and Maddie Oliver (8 points) also contributed.

South Shore Tech 48, Southeastern 28: Abby Pattison scored 21 points, and Rose Earner added 15 as the Vikings tied a program record by finishing the regular season at 16-4.

Walpole 60, Hanover 29: Olivia Damon scored 8 points, and Tessa Madden added 7, but the Hawks (14-5) lost a non-league game at home in the regular-season finale.

Dartmouth 53, Middleboro 49: The Sachems (10-11) lost on the road despite 15 points each from Natalie Kerstein and Jessica Perry.

Bishop Stang 50, Cardinal Spellman 23: The Cardinals lost on the road as Stang's Bridget Markey scored her 1,000th career point.

Cathedral 69, Archbishop Williams 34: The Bishops (10-8) lost on the road.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Holbrook 57, Avon 50: Armani Perkins scored 21 points and Owen Burke added 16 as the Bulldogs won at home. Malachi Desire chipped in with 8 points.

Plymouth North 43, Plymouth South 41: Seniors Ivan Darko (15 points) and Nick Marcel (14 points) powered North (8-12) to a home win in the town battle. Junior Cody Quinn added 10 points and 12 rebounds. South (10-8) was led by Jaime Andrews (10 points) and Jesse Hayes (9).

BC High 59, Central Catholic 46: The Eagles (9-10) won on the road.

Concord Carlisle 68, Braintree 61: The Wamps (5-12) lost at home on Senior Night.

Dedham 45, Milton 42: The Wildcats lost on the road.

BOYS HOCKEY

Duxbury 3, Boston Latin 0: Reilly Murray, Will Atallah and Mike Yucius scored, and goaltender Sam Mazanec posted the shutout for the Dragons (13-4-2).

Braintree 6, Walpole 4: On Wednesday, Kyle Hutchinson (3 goals, 2 assists) and Anthony Cappello (2 goals, 2 assists) starred as the visiting Wamps (10-6-2, 9-2-1) clinched the Bay State Conference Herget Division title.

BOYS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

Division 5 states: Connor Reidy won the 1,000 meters in 2:35.15 to help Norwell finish eighth overall (tops among local teams) at the Division 5 state championships at the Reggie Lewis Center. Reidy also ran on the third-place 4x400m relay team (3:34.14) for the Clippers, who scored 20 team points.

Littleton won the crown with 64.5 points. Ipswich was runner-up with 49.5. Carver (8 points) was 18th, East Bridgewater (7) placed 20th, and West Bridgewater, Archbishop Williams and Randolph all tied for 22nd with 6 points. Hull (2) was 35th and Abington (1) tied for 37th.

Norwell's Caleb White was fifth in the 1,000m (2:38.21), and the Clippers got 10th-place finishes from Griffin Murphy (300m, :37.04) and the 4x200m relay (1:38.78).

Carver's Camren Allain was second in the high jump (6-4), and West Bridgewater's Kenly Laime was third (6-0 to tie a school record). Randolph's John Morgan was third in the 55m (:6.61) and ninth in the 300m (:36.95).

Archbishop Williams' Jack Paula was fifth in the 55m (:6.73) and seventh in the long jump (19-8.25). East Bridgewater's Chris Oman was sixth in the 55m (:6.73), and Abington's Jeff Buckley was ninth in the shot put (43-1.25). In relay action, EB was fifth in the 4x800m (8:40.92), Hull was seventh in the 4x200m (1:37.77), and Abington was eighth in the 4x400m (3:42.18).

GIRLS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

Division 5 states: Maddie Hussey and Katie Santamaria led Archbishop Williams (19 points) to a tie for eighth place at the Division 5 state championships at the Reggie Lewis Center. Weston (71 points) and Norton (67) finished 1-2. West Bridgewater (15) was 13th, East Bridgewater (7) was 20th, Norwell (3) finished in a tie for 27th, Abington (1.25) was 33rd and Carver (1) was 34th.

Hussey was third in the mile (5:18.47) and ran on the fifth-place 4x800m relay (10:46.96) for the Bishops. Santamaria was fourth in the long jump (16-4.75) and ran on the fifth-place 4x200m relay (1:51.22).

West Bridgewater's Aly Bassett was third in the 55m hurdles (:8.96) and ran on the sixth-place 4x200m relay (1:52.18). Teammate Ella Dunbury was third in the 2-mile (11:45.29).

East Bridgewater's Ella Sheehan was third in the 600m (1:42.00). Teammate Grace Schnell was 10th in the long jump (15-6.75) and ran on the eighth-place 4x200m relay (1:52.42).

Carver's Morgan Reed-Davis was eighth in the mile (5:30.84), Abington's Evangeline McCleary was eighth in the 2-mile (12:28.0) and Abington's Hannah Tirrell tied for eighth in the high jump (4-8).

Norwell's Ariana Venetto was 10th in the 1,000m (3:21.64), and the Clippers' 4x400m relay was sixth in 4:18.47.
