HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Balanced scoring leads Fontbonne basketball past Cardinal Spellman

The Fontbonne Academy basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak by beating Cardinal Spellman, 64-40, on the road on Tuesday.

The Ducks (5-4) got contributions from Colleen Fogarty (16 points, 4 rebounds), Alix Abelard (13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists), Tressa Murphy (11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists), Maggie Bedard (9 points, 3 rebounds) and Lilly Blow (8 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists).

Kaci Belmont scored 25 points for the Cardinals in the loss.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Archbishop Williams 44, Braintree 39: The visiting Bishops (8-2) won the town battle behind seniors Angie Coletti (14 points) and Elise Carter (13). Freshman Sam Salmans (11 points) had a strong second half. In the loss, Jayme Kiser led the Wamps (3-6) with 10 points. Ciara Zelano provided a spark off the bench with 7 second-half points.

Blue Hills 44, Bristol Plymouth 28: Sophomore Bella Sulfaro had 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Warriors (6-1, 1-1) to a Mayflower road win. Sophomore Kathleen Murphy and Keira McMartin, a junior from Braintree, each added 10 points.

Bridgewater-Raynham 34, Durfee 27: Reese Bartlett had 10 points and 5 rebounds as the Trojans (8-2, 4-0) won a Southeast Conference game at home. Ally Piecewicz (8 points, 8 rebounds), Jenna Micciantuono (7 points, 6 rebounds) and Brenna Woodbury (4 points, 5 rebounds, 8 steals, 6 assists) also contributed.

Brockton 54, New Bedford 50: Naveiha Madison (18 points, 6 rebounds), Tajeiha Madison (16 points, 5 rebounds) and Ngozi Nwosu (7 points, 11 rebounds) led the Boxers (6-5) to a road win. Aissata Conde added 4 points and 10 rebounds, and Jalissa Miles was a defensive standout.

Franklin 47, Canton 41: The Bulldogs lost a Hockomock League home game.

Norwell 64, Carver 42: Maddie Oliver scored 23 points, Sara Cashin added 12 and Chloe Richardson chipped in 10 to power the host Clippers (11-1).

Cohasset 50, Middleboro 32: Junior Sarah Chenette scored 29 points, and freshman Kate Greer chipped in with a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) as the Skippers (5-3) beat the Sachems (6-7) on the road in South Shore League action. Sophia Moxley led Middleboro with 9 points.

Duxbury 49, Pembroke 40: Lyla Peters (16 points) and Amanda Donovan (14 points, 10 rebounds) starred as the Dragons (4-6) won a Patriot League road game. Elli Tam led Pembroke with 14 points.

Rockland 50, East Bridgewater 26: Zariah Ottley and Sydney Blaney each scored 12 points to lead the Bulldogs (9-2, 7-0) to a South Shore League road win.

Hanover 55, Silver Lake 35: Mary Kate Flynn had 16 points and 12 rebounds as the Hawks (8-2) beat the Lakers at home in Patriot League action. Olivia Damon and Noey Giardina each added 13 points.

Hingham 58, Scituate 48: Sarah Holler (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Colette Hanney (10 points) led the Harborwomen to a Patriot League home win. Grace McNamara scored 18 points for Scituate, and Emilia Rojik (10) and Lindsey Hausmann (9) also contributed.

Hull 47, Randolph 11: Fallon Ryan scored 17 points for the Pirates in the South Shore League road win. Elly Thomas (7 points) and Emily Punchard (6 points) also chipped in.

Marshfield 54, Plymouth South 38: Taylor Brilliant scored 22 points and Haylie McPhee added 10 as the Rams (6-3, 6-2) beat the Panthers at home in a Patriot League matchup.

Oliver Ames 60, North Attleboro 32: Avery Gamble led the Tigers (2-6) to a Hockomock League home win with 18 points, 10 rebounds (7 offensive) and 5 steals. Kaydance Derba (11 points, 8 rebounds), Kamryn Derba (11 points, 5 assists) and Sarah Hilliard (10 points) also starred. Junior Annie Reilly provided a spark off the bench with 4 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals.

North Quincy 48, Plymouth North 45: The Raiders (4-7, 4-4) won a Patriot League road game as Ava Bryan and Molly Toland each scored 13 points and Bridget Capone chipped in with 8. Autumn O'Campos was a defensive star.

Quincy 40, Whitman-Hanson 38: Alyssa Hopps scored 14 points and Lena Waldron had 13 as the Presidents (9-1) won at home in Patriot League action. Caitlin Leahy had 8 points and 13 rebounds for the Panthers (7-4, 7-1) in the loss.

Stoughton 41, Taunton 38: The Black Knights won at home.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Blue Hills 68, Bristol-Plymouth 57: The Warriors won a Mayflower Athletic Conference game at home.

Catholic Memorial 69, BC High 67 (OT): The Knights outscored the host Eagles 10-8 in overtime.

Brockton 73, New Bedford 56: The Boxers (5-3) won at home.

Cardinal Spellman 57, Bedford 40: Jaydan Exalus (24 points, 8 rebounds) led the Cardinals (8-2) to a non-league road win. Andre Harris, Umarei Murray, and Jake McSharry all had strong games.

Franklin 57, Canton 52: Jamaal McConnell (15 points), Zaza Francoeur (13) and Matt Chafin (10) all starred, but the Bulldogs (6-4) lost a Hockomock League road game.

Middleboro 64, Cohasset 49: Matt Youngquist had 21 points and Jacob Briggs added 11 as the Sachems (7-4) won a South Shore League road game.

Duxbury 60, Pembroke 57: Trevor Jones (15 points), Andrew Curley (11) and Tate Fiedler (10) led the Dragons (4-6) to a Patriot League home win. Brady Spencer led Pembroke (4-6) with 31 points, and Joseph Dwyer (11 points) and Thomas Halloran (9) also contributed.

Hanover 60, Silver Lake 36: Jake Peterson (23 points) and Ben Scalzi (10) starred as the Hawks (5-4) beat the Lakers on the road in a Patriot League matchup.

Scituate 73, Hingham 72: Michael Porter scored 25 points, and Kyle Mullen and Brian Good each added 14 as the Sailors (8-2, 6-2) won a Patriot League home game. Liam McBride led Hingham with 23 points.

Randolph 80, Hull 44: The Blue Devils (9-2) beat the Pirates on the road in South Shore League action.

Marshfield 63, Plymouth South 62: The Rams (8-1) won a Patriot League road game behind K.J. Greer (20 points) and James Leach (17). Declan Davis led South (6-2) with 28 points.

Oliver Ames 38, North Attleboro 30: The Tigers won a Hockomock League road game.

North Quincy 61, Plymouth North 51: Zach Taylor had 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the Raiders (8-3, 7-1) to a Patriot League home win. Joe Bates (10 points, 6 rebounds) also starred for NQ. North was led by Hunter Byron (15 points), Ivan Darko (10 points), Connor Jepson (10 points, 11 rebounds).

Whitman-Hanson 72, Quincy 49: Freshman Isaiah Bean Brittian recorded a triple-double with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, and sophomore Ryan Baker added 24 points to power the Panthers (7-4) to a Patriot League win. Freshman Caleb Baker and junior Evan Yakavonis each added 10 points.

South Shore Tech 61, Bristol Aggie 31: Jesse Lyons (19 points, 11 rebounds) and Brandon LaFleur (17 points, 8 assists) led the Vikings (3-6, 1-2) to a Mayflower road win.

Southeastern 80, Westport 71: Chance Moya scored 22 points, Tristan Ortega had 17, Seth Hayes chipped in with 12 to lead the Hawks.

Taunton 81, Stoughton 46: In the road loss, Jayden Costa-Haywood led Stoughton (3-5) with 26 points.

BOYS HOCKEY

Oliver Ames 5, Foxboro 1: Sean McCarthy scored twice, and Shaun Teehan, Jack Perron and Landon Grothe added goals for the Tigers (5-5). Andrew Livingstone had 3 assists, and Sean Kearns and Matt Lawson each had a pair.

GIRLS SWIMMING/DIVING

Bridgewater-Raynham 92, Durfee 90: Senior captain Jessie McNeil remained undefeated for her career in the regular season by winning the 200-yard freestyle and 100 breaststroke to power the Trojans (5-1). Junior captain Eva Chaves won the 200 IM and 100 butterfly, Sammy Bean won the 100 freestyle, and Makayla Beane won the 100 backstroke. The 200 medley relay of McNeil, Eily Mitchell, Chaves and Bean also won.

BOYS SWIMMING/DIVING

Bridgewater-Raynham 95, Durfee 67: Cam Hogg won the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, and Jack Werb won the 50 free and 500 free to power the Trojans (6-0). They also swam on a pair of winning relays. Other winners for B-R: Cooper Hammond (200 freestyle), Cole Bridges (100 fly) and Dante Kirika (100 backstroke).

GIRLS GYMNASTICS

Walpole 129, Braintree 128.1: Abigail Kostas (32.6) and Madison Keddy (30.9) finished 2-3 in the all-around for the Wamps in the home loss. Braintree's Megan Matheny tied for second on vault (8.5), and Sophia Ryan and Kostas tied for second on bars (7.7).

Braintree 126.7, Weymouth 122.1: On Sunday, Weymouth's Alex Rey (32.75) won the all-around with Braintree's Abigail Kostas (31.95) and Madison Keddy (30.65) finishing 2-3. Rey won beam (8.4) and floor (8.3). Braintree's Megan Matheny (8.65) won vault, and teammate Ava Rynne (7.5) won bars. Braintree is 3-1.
