HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Barnstable girls hockey defeats Nantucket in overtime thriller

Ally McEneaney found the back of the net twice to help the Barnstable High girls hockey team defeat Nantucket, 4-3, on Saturday.

The Red Hawks (8-4-1) jumped out to a 2-0 behind McEneaney's first goal and a goal from Julia Noreau.

Nantucket's Bailey Lower then scored twice to level the game at 2-2. McEneaney and Lower traded goals again making it 3-3, before Emma DaSilva scored the game-winning goal for Barnstable.

Girls Hockey

Martha’s Vineyard 7, Dennis-Yarmouth 1: The Vineyarders (4-6-2) got back in the win column after beating the Dolphins (1-13). Alana Nevin scored twice and had two assists for Martha's Vineyard and Grace Cotton and Esme Colon recorded their first varsity goals.

Sandwich 4, Cape Cod Furies 0: Katie Barrett had a goal and an assist to lead the Blue Knights (9-4) past the Furies (8-6-1) Saturday evening. Marley Dwyer opened the scoring for Sandwich in the second period, and Emma McPherson and Khloe Schultz each scored late to ensure the Blue Knights victory.

Boys Hockey

Falmouth 4, Bridgewater-Raynham 3: The Clippers (7-7) got the win in overtime thanks to Matt Quinlan's game winner.

Nauset 7, Mashpe/Monomoy 2: The Warriors (9-3) bounced back from having their two-game winning streak snapped by beating the Monarchs (1-10-1).

St. John Paul II 8, Blue Hills 0: The Lions won on senior night to improve to 2-9-1 this season.

Sandwich 2, Dennis-Yarmouth 1: Colin McIver and James Mawhinney each scored to lead the Blue Knights (9-3-1) past the Dolphins (7-4-1).

Southeastern 6, Upper Cape 3: The Rams fall to 3-9.

Girls Basketball

Martha's Vineyard 52, Nantucket 20: The Vineyarders got the win over the Warriors (2-11) and improved to 4-7 this season.

Boys Basketball

Martha's Vineyard 47, Nantucket 45: The Vineyarders continued their dominant start to the season, improving to 12-1.
