HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Bongiolatti's walk-off hit carries Marshfield softball past Hingham

The Marshfield High softball team clinched a playoff berth in dramatic fashion on Wednesday.

Trailing 10-8 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Rams (11-9, 9-6 Patriot League) rallied for three runs to topple Hingham, 11-10.

Sam Bongiolatti (3 hits, 3 RBI) won it with a 2-run, walk-off hit. Jess Morrison went 4 for 4 with 3 RBI.

SOFTBALL

Bridgewater-Raynham 13, Durfee 0 (6 inn.): The visiting Trojans (9-7, 6-0 Southeast Conference) won their third in a row as Lily Welch pitched an abbreviated 2-hitter with no walks and 9 strikeouts. Offensively, B-R was led by Ashley Jacques (4 hits, 3 RBI, run), Riain Keefe (triple, 2 RBI, 2 runs) and Ky Hicks (triple, RBI, run).

Plymouth South 12, Hanover 5: Freshman Abby Hanna had a pair of hits, including a home run, and 3 RBI for the host Hawks (11-5, 10-4) in the Patriot League loss. McKenzie Foley and Ava Toglia each had 2 hits as well.

Norfolk Aggie 7, South Shore Tech 6: Avery Cina (2 for 3, 2 RBI), Hannah Dailey (2 for 3, RBI) and McKenzie Jepsen (3 for 4, RBI) led the Vikings (8-6) in the loss.

Austin Prep 3, Archbishop Williams 2: Shelby Parr allowed only 2 earned runs with 12 strikeouts in the loss for the Bishops (11-6).

North Attleboro 4, Stoughton 3 (8 inn.): Alyssa Edwards tied it up with a solo home run, but the host Black Knights fell in extra innings. Sydney Menz (2 runs) and pitcher Kerry Driscoll (RBI triple) also starred in the loss.

Dighton-Rehoboth 5, Middleboro 4: The Sachems (12-4) had their 11-game win streak snapped.

Foxboro 12, Oliver Ames 0: In the loss, Katie Melendy pitched 5 innings and also had the only hit for the Tigers.

Pembroke 6, Quincy 3: The Titans (13-4) topped the Presidents in Patriot League action.

Canton 3, Sharon 2: The Bulldogs won on Senior Night, led by Taylor Reynolds (2 hits, RBI), Emily Ciampa (hit, RBI) and Gillian Gordon (run). Jessica Vo had a solid game defensively in right field, and Sophia Santos was the winning pitcher with 4 strikeouts.

BASEBALL

Milton 9, Walpole 1: Winning pitcher Brian Foley (6-0) allowed a run on 3 hits with 9 strikeouts and a walk over 6 innings as the Wildcats (15-2) claimed their second straight Bay State Conference Herget Division championship. Owen McHugh pitched the seventh inning, striking out 2. He also was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Charlie Walker (3 for 5, triple), Ryan Dexter (2 for 4, RBI, 2 runs) and Greg Domineau (1 for 3, 2 RBI, 2 runs) also starred.

Braintree 8, Needham 5: Charlie Dimartino had 2 hits and 3 RBI to lead the Wamps (13-4) to a Bay State Conference win. Cam Grieve, Josh Donovan and Tim Carney each had 2 hits, and Jordan Gorham and Tyler Curtis combined for the win, allowing 6 hits while striking out and allowing 3 earned runs.

Hanover 1, Plymouth South 0 (9 inn.): Thomas Perkins led off the top of the 9th with a single, and Johnny McDonald singled him home for the game's only run. Gabe Knudsen pitched 7 solid innings for the Hawks (8-7), and Connor Hutchison earned his first varsity win in relief. In the loss, South pitcher Tommy Sullivan went the distance and had a perfect game through 7 innings.

Whitman-Hanson 7, Silver Lake 2: Senior left-hander Ethan Smith scattered 5 hits over 5-plus innings with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts as the Panthers (7-9) squared their Patriot League record at 7-7. Smith also contributed a hit and an RBI. Senior Aidan Barry had 3 hits, and junior Ryan Carroll added a pair. Junior Connor Sottak had an RBI double, and freshman lefty Ryan Baker worked 2 scoreless innings.

Marshfield 11, Hingham 6: Senior right-hander Owen Masterson allowed 1 run on 6 hits over 5 innings with 3 strikeouts as the Rams beat the Harbormen on the road on Hingham's Senior Day. Seniors Collin Reilly and John McDougall each had 3 RBI for Marshfield.

Bridgewater-Raynham 6, Durfee 5: Luke Barry got the complete-game win and didn't allow an earned run. Cam Morrison (2 RBI), Kevin Doyle (2 RBI) and Mike Logiudice (double) each had 2 hits.

Canton 13, Sharon 8: Jack Digirolamo was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI to lead the Bulldogs, two days after needing 12 stitches in his throwing hand/arm after getting cleated. He's hitting .456 with 13 RBI for the season.

Foxboro 9, Oliver Ames 1: In the loss, Jake Waxman broke up a no-hitter with a home run in the fourth inning, and Nathan Carpentier and Nathaniel Lewis added hits.

South Shore Tech 14, Norfolk Aggie 3: Tyrin McDonald pitched 6 strong innings with 5 strikeouts to get the win for the host Vikings (9-6). The offense was led by Jake Googins (2 doubles, 5 runs), Jake McAleer (2 hits, 3 runs), Garrett Morris (2 doubles), Tyler Holmes (2 hits) and Jake Starbird (2 hits).

North Quincy 2, Scituate 1: Junior Kyle DeBoer threw a 3-hitter with 7 strikeouts for NQ (6-11). John Lynch (3 hits, run), Scott Ritz (2 hits, double, RBI), Alex Montero (2 hits, double) and Charlie Baker (RBI) also starred. Johnny Kinsley doubled and drove in the lone run for the Sailors (11-5, 10-3) in the Patriot League loss.

Quincy 10, Pembroke 7: The Presidents (10-8) have won five straight.

Plymouth North 6, Duxbury 0: Alec Peruzzi pitched a shutout, and Connor McKenzie had 3 hits, including a home run, for the Blue Eagles.

Brockton 11, New Bedford 5: Brady Ensko notched the complete-game win for the Boxers.

BOYS LACROSSE

King Philip 10, Bridgewater-Raynham 9 (3 OT): The visiting Trojans (10-4) could not hold on to a fourth-quarter lead in this non-league thriller. Dawson Dubose (5 goals, assist) led the offense with help from Ryan Breheny (goal, 5 assists) and Evan Costa (goal, assist).

Southeastern 15, Bishop Connolly 2: Thomas Hustins scored 5 goals, and Will Lannan and Jacob Lehan added hat tricks for the Hawks.

Cardinal Spellman 11, St. Mary's (Lynn) 9: The Cardinals edged the Spartans in Catholic Central League action.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Norwell 12, Marshfield 2: Danielle Cox (3 goals, 2 assists), Mika Johnson (3 goals, assist) and Maddie McDonald (2 goals, 2 assists) led the Clippers (10-6).

Archbishop Williams 12, Arlington Catholic 7: Goalie Bridget Donovan (Weymouth) made 10 saves to lead the Bishops (12-5).

Thayer Academy 18, Groton 8: The Tigers (10-1-1) won at home.

Franklin 9, Notre Dame Academy 7: The Cougars lost on the road.

GIRLS TENNIS

Plymouth South 3, Hanover 2: South (9-7) picked up points from No. 2 singles player Emma Colonna and won the doubles with the teams of No. 1 Karina Dias and Anna Quinn and No. 2 Lexi Kneeland and Anna Lanning.

Brockton 3, New Bedford 2: Ahunna Okreke won at third singles, and the Boxers (2-7) swept the doubles with the teams of Samantha Blanchard/Christelle Jean-Baptiste (No. 1) and Priscilla Barros/Nedjy Joseph (No. 2).

Duxbury 5, Plymouth North 0: Caroline Sutliffe, Annabel Keating and Cara Cass won in singles, and the Dragons swept the doubles with the teams of Welles Holbrook/Audrey Hubbs (No. 1) and Agnes Buell/Taylor Florek (No. 2).

Oliver Ames 3, Foxboro 2: Elizabeth O’Brien won at third singles, and OA swept the doubles with the teams of Caroline Peper/Morgan Vasiliou (No. 1) and Marina Mierzwinski/Olivia Querzoli (No. 2).

Silver Lake 5, Whitman-Hanson 0: The Lakers beat the Panthers in Patriot League action.

BOYS TENNIS

Rockland/East Bridgewater 5, Carver 0: Senior captain Adam Beatrice (No. 1), Petr Quinn (No. 2) and Nick Mesheau (No. 3) won in singles, and Rockland/EB (10-2, 7-2 South Shore League) swept the doubles with the teams of Will Cifrino/Leo Monteiro (No. 1) and senior captain Will Maynard-Pimentel/Logan Maguire (No. 2).

Hingham 5, Marshfield 0: Jack Price, Liam Arnold and Charlie Even won in singles, and the Harbormen swept the doubles with the teams of Miguel Alanso/Hector Munoz and Logan Price/Trevor Buckeridge.

Whitman-Hanson 3, Silver Lake 2: Mateo Santalucia won at third singles, and the Panthers (7-9) swept the doubles with the teams of Tristan Baker/Conor Battell (No. 1) and Zachary Lindsay/Brady Wright (No. 2).

Oliver Ames 3, Foxboro 2: Senior captain Raphael Vache won in singles, and OA swept the doubles to post its 9th win of the season.

Duxbury 5, Plymouth North 0: The host Green Dragons (15-0) clinched at least a share of the Patriot League crown.

Quincy 4, Pembroke 1: The Presidents beat the Titans in Patriot League action.

GIRLS GOLF

Duxbury sweeps: The Green Dragons (12-0) won twice at Eastward Ho, beating Monomoy, 4-2, and Barnstable, 5-1. Harper Capilli, Lucy Laviolette and Grace Landolfi each went 2-0.

Braintree 4, Walpole 3: The Wamps won at Braintree Municipal Golf Course.

Scituate 3.5, North Quincy 2.5: The Sailors topped the Raiders in Patriot League action.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD

Hingham 78, Marshfield 58: Avery Warshaw won the high jump (6-1), triple jump (44-9.5) and 200 meters (:23.42) and was second in the 100m (:11.79) as the Harbormen captured the Patriot League Keenan Division crown. The meet was tied at the end of the running events. Tom Shetzline won the 400m hurdles (:56.61) and long jump (20-8.5) for Hingham. Marshfield's Drew Pesko won the 800m (2:05.38) and mile (4:37.84).

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

Hingham 89, Marshfield 47: Emma Mills won the 100m (:13.34), 200m (:27.09) and long jump (16-5) and ran on the winning 4x100m relay (:51.86) as the Harborwomen clinched the Patriot League Keenan Division title. Margaret Lowther won the 400m (1:00.21) and triple jump (34-5) for Hingham. For Marshfield, Eleanor Angeles-Whitfield won the mile (5:13.63) and 2-mile (11:47.52), and Jaliyah Burns won the shot put (31-5) and discus (86-5).

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Braintree 3, Framingham 1: On Tuesday, the Wamps won, 25-19, 25-22, 18-25, 25-18.
