HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Braintree scores pair of wins over Weymouth

The Braintree High hockey teams scored a pair of wins over Weymouth on Wednesday.

The girls won 3-0 behind a pair of goals from Kelsie Littlewood and a shutout from Eva Surette. Fiona Holland scored a goal and added an assist.

The boys won 3-2 in overtime to improve to 4-2 overall (4-0 in the Bay State Conference). Senior goalie Ryan Cochrane, making his first start, had 32 saves. Anthony Cappello had a pair of goals and an assist for the Wamps. Drew Coady also scored, and Robbie Young, Sean O'Rourke and Bryan Rizzo added assists.

Ryan Kane scored both goals for Weymouth in the loss.

Abington 8, West Bridgewater/East Bridgewater 0: Spencer Merrick recorded the shutout for the Green Wave, and Evan St. Martin finished with five points (goal, 4 assists). Jake Quinn had a goal and 3 assists.

Hanover 5, Quincy 2: Liam Joy scored a hat trick for the Hawks and Cam Scott added another goal. Lincoln Hennessy scored both goals for Quincy in the loss.

St. Mary's (Lynn) 3, Archbishop Williams 1: The Bishops lost the Catholic Central League game.

Pope Francis 5, Bridgewater-Raynham 1: The Trojans dropped the non-league game.

Canton 2, Oliver Ames 1: Brendan Tourgee and AJ Thomas scored a pair of goals for the Bulldogs and Carson Eagles played well in goal. Jack Corey scored a goal for OA off a feed from Sean McCarthy while Brandon Burke played well in net.

Catholic Memorial 5, BC High 0: The Eagles dropped the Catholic Conference game.

Walpole 3, Milton 2: Sean McDougall and Pat O'Neill scored for the Wildcats.

Taunton 3, Stoughton/Brockton 0: Owen Dupont, Ryan Summers and Sean McGowan played well in the loss.

Duxbury 5, Plymouth North 3: Braeden Hulett had a hat trick for the Dragons (6-3-2).

Pembroke 3, North Quincy 2 (OT): Brendan Abban scored the winning goal seven seconds into overtime for the Titans (5-2). Brandon Perry scored two goals and an assist and Kyle Ready played well in net.

Norwell 6, Middleboro 1: Austin Shea, Matt Cerrutti, Quinn Simmons, Timmy Ward, Nolan Petrucelli and Aedan Coyle scored for the Clippers (8-1).

South Shore Tech 7, Tri-County 3: Dean Collins played well in net for the win for the Vikings (5-5).

Whitman-Hanson 7, Dartmouth 3: In the non-league road win, the Panthers (5-4) broke open a 2-2 tie with second-period goals from Alexander Ethier, Luke Tropeano and Joseph Culley. Matt Solari and Chris Ryan scored in the first period, and Solari and Either each notched their second goal of the game in the third.

Rockland 1 Cohasset/Hull 1: Joey Dow made 26 saves for the Bulldogs while Patrick McGuirk scored the goal.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Canton 1, Dedham 1: The Bulldogs played to a non-league tie.

Duxbury 9, Quincy/North Quincy 1: The Dragons won the Patriot League game.

Sandwich 4, Pembroke 3 (OT): Hannah D’Angelo, Jen Birolini and Lauren Perry scored for the Titans in the loss.

Plymouth South/Plymouth North 2, Barnstable 1: Maeve Campbell and Jennifer Diercks scored in the win while Gabbie Sidman played well in net.

Hingham 7, Marshfield 2: The Harborwomen won the Patriot League game.

Martha’s Vineyard 4, Norwell/Abington 1: Penny Saich scored for the Clippers off a feed from Maddie McDonald.

Archbishop Williams 3, Bishop Feehan 1: Maggie Lynch, Colleen Sansone and Grace Mottau scored for the Bishops (7-0-1).

Hanover 4, Stoughton 0: The Hawks won the non-league game.

Milton 4, Walpole 0: Lila Chamoun made 37 saves in a shutout effort. Grace Analetto, Ellie McConville, Caelan Leddy and Kerry Balerna each scored.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Norwell 44, Cape Cod Academy 39: The Clippers won the non-league game.

Scituate 100, Southeastern 58: Michael Porter led the Sailors (6-2) with 25 points. Kyle Mullen (14), Roman Glowac (11) and Sam Brown (10) all finished in double figures.

Old Colony 67, South Shore Tech 52: Jesse Lyons posted a double-double (22 points, 12 rebounds) in the loss for the Vikings (2-5). Todd Egan scored 11 points and had 4 assists.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Wareham 43, Avon 24: Hanelie Cadet scored 12 points for the Panthers (3-2) in the loss.

Blue Hills 58, Southeastern 52: Keira McMartin scored a career-high 13 points in a win for the Warriors (6-0). Bridget Devine also scored 13 points and Bella Sulfaro finished with a team-high 17 points. Kathleen Murphy chipped in with 11 points.

South Shore Tech 54, Old Colony 37: The Vikings (7-1) picked up their seventh consecutive win behind a double-double from Abby Pattison (15 points, 16 rebounds). Zoey and Mia Bradshaw combined for 22 points and played well defensively.

Hanover 36, Falmouth 33: Mary Carven and Olivia Damon played strong defensively for the Hawks (6-2).

Norwell 55, Bedford 37: Sophomore Maddie Oliver led the way for the Clippers (9-1) with 22 points. Sara Cashin added 11.

Bishop Feehan 70, Hingham 42: The Harborwomen dropped the non-league game.

Hull 39, Falmouth Academy 7: Emily Punchard scored 11 points and Fallon Ryan added 8 as the Pirates picked up their third win of the season.

WRESTLING

Bridgewater-Raynham 75, Durfee 0: The Trojans (11-1) got wins from Kennedie Davis, Lucas Santos, Brent von Magnus, Jack Alves, Shaun LaCivita, Guy Val, Brendan Rosher, Fletcher Rinke, Charlie Swenson, Christian Curley Nathan Leach, Myles Beckett and Cam Davidson.

Quincy/North Quincy 45, Hanover 36: Q/NQ (4-5) won the Patriot League match, getting pins from Ibrahim Yacouty, Angelo Orlando, Ashton Harris, Rajan Hamzallari and Thomas Nguyen.

Plymouth North 48, Whitman-Hanson 35: The Panthers (3-4-2) got pins from PJ Katz (11-2 on the season), Charlie Lussier (21-0), Braden Kain (26-2), Aidan Guiliani (20-2) and Maddox Colclough (15-4). Junior Austin Gamber at 132 pounds won by tech fall, 15-0, at 132 pounds to improve to 16-6.

GYMNASTICS

Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater 141.8, Carver/Middleboro 123: Freshman Lily Moreira won the all-around for B-R/WB with a score of 35.35. BR/WB captain Katie Russo won the vault (9.4) and uneven bars (8.8) while Cecilia Meoli won the beam (9.15). Moreira tied for first on floor with Mia Balsamo (9.1).
