HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Cape Cod Academy's Ella Bartolomei explodes for 13 points

Ella Bartolomei matched her opponent's goal total, as she scored 11 goals in the Cape Cod Academy girls lacrosse team's 17-11 win over St. John Paul II on Monday.

She tacked on two assists for good measure to finish with 13 points in the win.

Tilly Crosby scored twice and handed out three assists while Quinn Powers had three goals and two assists. Emelie Jonsson had a goal and an assist and Taylor Bodurtha contributed two helpers. Flynn Kayajan had 16 saves in net for Cape Cod Academy (4-2).

JPII drops to 4-3.

Monomoy 15, Mashpee 3: Tassia McGrail scored all of the Falcons (1-5) goals in the loss to the Sharks (4-2).

Boys Tennis

Barnstable 5, Monomoy 0: The Red Hawks improved to 4-2 this season after wins from Kyle Medeiros (2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (10-8) at first singles), Eric Arabadzhiev (6-4, 6-2 at second singles), and Alex Arabadzhiev (6-3, 6-1 at third singles). Andy Coombs/David Perry (6-3, 7-6 (7-1) at first doubles) and Thomas Berger/Mike Higginbotham (6-1, 6-1 at second doubles) secured the sweep. Monomoy drops to 5-2.

Girls Tennis

Martha's Vineyard 5, Dennis-Yarmouth 0: Cali Giglio, Evelyn Brewer, and Andrea Morse won first, second, and third singles, respectively, for the Vineyarders (2-2). Sophia Balsas/Ellie Pennington and Sophie Roads/Sophie Winters swept first and second doubles for the sweep. The loss drops the Dolphins to 0-4.

Mashpee 4, Rockland 1: Mariele Henley won first singles over Kiara Miguel (6-1, 6-1), and Piper Milde won second singles over Hope Sylvester (7-5, 6-4) for the Falcons. Hannah Rogers/Grace Dion won first doubles over Vivian Nguyen (6-6 (9-7), 6-2) and Alina Doolan/Talia DiMaggio won second doubles over Mae Richardson/Emily Gusthusen (6-2, 6-1) for Mashpee (3-2).

Nantucket 4, Barnstable 1: Joan Harris defeated Sophie Harris (6-1, 6-0) in first singles, Lauren Cutone defeated Isadora Brandao (6-1, 6-1 at second singles), and Hannah Gerardo defeated Teaghan Geraghty (6-3, 6-1 at third singles) for the Whalers singles sweep. Julia Swiellik/Sara Dusseault defeated Hannah Dutra/Dana Edwards (7-5,6-4 at second doubles) for Nantucket (4-1).

Kate Condhino/Maddie Devoe defeated Chloe Marrero/Lydia Johnson (1-6, 6-2, 6-1) for Barnstable (1-5).

Baseball

Sandwich 5, Pembroke 3: Jeremy Angeles drove in two runs, Sean Price collected two hits, while Zaren Graff and Alden Kangus both pitched well for Sandwich (5-2).

Mashpee 11, Rockland 5: The Falcons (5-2) scored seven runs in the bottom of the third inning for the win.

Upper Cape 5, Tri-County 1: Tyler Kutil pitched five shutout innings to lead the Rams (5-2) to the win. Kutil, Jared Coates, Asher Graff and Logan Ewell each came up big for the Rams offense.

Plymouth North 6, Nauset 4: Pete Murphy pitched 4⅔ innings and gave up four runs (two earned), with eight strikeouts, and had two RBIs at the plate for the Warriors in the loss. Ryan O’Keefe had two hits, and Artie Figueiredo was 1-for-3 with a double for Nauset (1-6).

Somerset Berkley 5, Bourne 0: The Canalmen drop to 4-4 on the season.

Softball

Sandwich 4, Norwell 3: Mia Consalvi had two RBIs and played great defense at shortstop, including making the final out with the bases loaded, to lead the Blue Knights (4-3) to the win. Cece Donovan had six strikeouts in the circle, and a base hit at the plate.

Pembroke 5, Falmouth 1: Anna Velesig went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Katie Medeiros also had two hits in the loss for the Clippers (1-4).

Somerset-Berkley 11, Bourne 1: Jadyn Morrell, Sommer Washabaugh and Paige Meda each collected hits in the loss for Bourne (5-3).

Rockland 11, Mashpee 5: Molly Madden went 1-for-3 with an RBI and scored a run for the Falcons (1-7) in the loss.

Boys Lacrosse

Cape Cod Academy 15, St John Paul II 4: Landon O'Neil scored eight goals to go with to assists for the Seahawks (6-1) in a win over JPII (1-4). Tripp Germani had a hat trick, Brady Livingston was good on face offs, Alex Kowaleski and Jack Bunnell played well defensively, and John Valerio had six saves in net for Cape Cod Academy.

Monomoy 23, Cape Tech 1: Tamer Khalil had seven goals and two assists to lead the Sharks (5-1) past the Crusaders (0-6). Christian Whittle (three goals, assist), Joey McKeen (two goals, assist), Seamus St. Pierre (two goals, assist), Jackson Rocco (goal, two assists), Owen Ramler (two goals), Aidan Stone (two goals), Max Ramler (goal, assist) all had multi-point days for Monomoy. The Sharks defense was led by Max Barrett, Jordan Charlot, Braeden Darling, Jackson Morneau, Owen Dubis and Jake Giorgio.

Tri-County 11, Upper Cape 8: Goals came from Billy Dunn, Nate Balbauna, Landon Fleck, and Jadon Barton for Upper Cape (2-5).
