HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Dolan's home run lifts Spellman softball past West Bridgewater

Taylor Dolan hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday to break a 3-3 tie and lift the Cardinal Spellman High softball team to a 6-3 home win over West Bridgewater.

Dolan also earned the win in the circle, allowing 4 hits with 11 strikeouts, and Roslyn Quinn added an RBI single.

On Saturday, Dolan pitched a 2-hitter with 12 strikeouts as the Cardinals beat Ursuline Academy, 13-1, in 6 innings. She also was 2-for-2 with a home run. Lucy LaCara (2-for-2) and Ava Nabstedt (home run) also starred.

In Monday's game, Lilly Martel (1-for-4, run, 2 RBI), Amanda Jacques (2-for-4) and Ava Matta (2-for-3) led WB. Olivia Razza and Neala Boyd also scored runs.

Whitman-Hanson 14, Duxbury 3: Kaylee Butterfield went 3-for-4 for the Panthers (1-3), and Lauryn Meade earned the complete-game win, allowing 5 hits and no walks with 11 strikeouts.

Hanover 13, Plymouth South 1: The host Hawks (2-0) had 22 hits, including 4 each from Kaelyn Chase, Erin Condon and Noey Giardina. Abby Hanna and Abby Minasi each had 3 hits, and Julia Sledziewski had 2. Abby Smith allowed 2 hits for her second win of the season.

East Bridgewater 5, Bristol Plymouth 1: Maggie Schlossberg picked up the win in the circle, striking out 9 in the non-league matchup for EB. Sarah Silvia (2 hits, run), Emily McNaught (2 hits, 3 RBI) and Riley Egan (hit, 2 runs) had big days.

Hingham 8, Marshfield 5: Sam Bongiolatti and Emily Harper had strong games for the Rams in the Patriot League home loss.

King Philip 17, Oliver Ames 3: Maddie Homer and Emily Martin each had hits and scored runs for host OA. Devon Morris also scored for the Tigers.

Silver Lake 19, Plymouth North 1: Marissa Durette pitched 4 innings, striking out 6 for North in the loss. Jasmyne Filippini was a defensive standout in left field and hit a triple.

Rockland 17, South Shore Tech 0: In the loss, Zoey Bradshaw had a triple for the Vikings, and Rose Earner, Avery Cina and Hannah Dailey added hits.

Marshfield 14, Pembroke 1: On Saturday, senior Sam Bongiolatti had 3 hits and 2 RBI to power the Rams (2-0). Jess Morrison, Emily Harper, Sarah McIntyre and Haylie McPhee had 2 hits each, and Sofia Blanco got the complete-game win with 6 strikeouts.

Milton Academy 14, Rivers 1 (5 inn.): On Saturday, Nia Phillips (2-0) tossed a 2-hitter with 12 strikeouts for the visiting Mustangs (2-0). Sophie Crowley and Phillips each had 2 hits.

BASEBALL

Weymouth 5, Braintree 0: Sean Zaslaw earned the win for the Wildcats, allowing 4 hits over 5 innings with 9 strikeouts. Colin McPherson posted the 2-inning save with 3 strikeouts. Gill Dolan (3 hits), Matt Suplee (2 hits) and Greg Healy (2 RBI) starred at the plate.

BC High 12, Malden Catholic 2 (5 inn.): Mason Lombard struck out 6 over 3 scoreless innings, and the Eagles pounded out 10 hits in a Catholic Conference home win.

Bridgewater-Raynham 15, Brockton 3: The Trojans (4-0) won on the road.

Whitman-Hanson 9, Duxbury 2: Ryan Baker got the win, allowing just 1 run over 6 innings while striking out 7 for the Panthers (2-2). Zack Nye went 2-for-2, including an RBI double and his first home run of the season.

Plymouth South 7, Hanover 1: Cam Tetler earned the complete-game win and was 2-for-4 at the plate as the Panthers (1-2) won a Patriot League game at home. Brad Leonard (2-for-3, double, 2-run home run) and Jayson Ruehs (4-for-4, 2 RBI) also starred.

Marshfield 12, Hingham 6: The Rams (2-1) won a Patriot League road game as Sam Bernard pitched 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. He also drove in 3 runs. Jack Croft and Jay Vigilante each had 3 hits and 3 RBI.

South Shore Tech 13, Holbrook 2: Jake McAleer had 4 hits, including a double and a triple, and drove in 5 runs as the Vikings (3-0) won on the road. Tommy Jenkins (2 hits, double, triple, 3 RBI), Brandon LaFleur (2 hits) and Tyler Carini (2 hits) also starred, and Gabe Scanlon and Jake Starbird pitched well.

Milton 4, Wellesley 3: Tommy Mitchell (2-0) allowed 3 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks as the Wildcats (4-0) won a Bay State Conference home game. Owen McHugh earned the 1-inning save. KJ Beckett (3 RBI) and Jack Sullivan (RBI) also starred.

North Quincy 9, Pembroke 2: Winning pitcher Kevin Pritchard struck out 7 over 6 innings for NQ, allowing 1 earned run. Kyle DeBoer (2-run home run), Max Gaudiano (2 hits, double, 3 RBI), Charlie Baker (double, 2 RBI), Tim Toland (2 hits, run) and Vinny O'Leary (hit, 2 runs, RBI) starred at the plate.

Silver Lake 5, Plymouth North 3: Ben Zschau allowed 1 earned run over 6 great innings, and Collin Monteiro pitched the seventh inning for the save for the host Lakers. Shane Hackett (1-for-4, 2 runs), Nick Peterson (1-for-3, 2 RBI), Jack Quigley (1-for-1, 2 RBI) and Monteiro (1-for-3, RBI) starred at the plate.

King Philip 11, Oliver Ames 0: The Tigers lost on the road. Patrick Finnerty had a pair of hits including a double.

Scituate 4, Quincy 3: The Sailors improved to 2-1.

Thayer Academy 5, Belmont Hill 4: On Saturday, Michigan-bound Charlie Denomme went 4 innings, striking out 4, for his first win of the season for the visiting Tigers. Alex Dias got the 2-inning save. Ryan Hawley pitched 1 inning in relief. Peter Fischer went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Charlie Essex went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Carver 11, Sturgis West 10: On Saturday, the Crusaders blew a 9-0 lead after 2 innings but rallied for a walk-off win in the seventh as Teagan Zakrzewski singled home Finn Manning to tie it and junior captain Derek Lopes (2-for-4, 2 RBI) plated Bobby Rooney with a single. Nate Dirado was 2-for-4 with 3 RBI.

BOYS LACROSSE

Blue Hills 10, Westport 2: Junior Mike Repucci (4 goals) and senior Pat Callahan (3 goals) led the Warriors (4-0) to a road win. Nate Finn and Aiden Landers keyed the defensive effort.

Bridgewater-Raynham 14, Dighton-Rehoboth 5: Eight different players scored for the host Trojans (3-0) in the win. Seniors Zach Sinclair (2 goals), Patrick Concannon (goal, 2 assists), Jack Lambert (goal, assist) and Eli Henschen (goal) led the way.

South Shore Tech 11, Upper Cape 8: Todd Egan (Hanson) had 4 goals and 2 assists as the Vikings (4-0) won on the road. Eamon Haley (Scituate) added 2 goals and 2 assists.

Rockland 14, Middleboro 6: Lucas Leander (6 goals, 4 assists) and Tyler Boehner (3 goals, 3 assists) led the Bulldogs to a South Shore League win.

Hull 12, East Bridgewater 7: The Pirates won a South Shore League game at home.

Plymouth North 6, Barnstable 5: The Blue Eagles won on the road.

Falmouth 9, Plymouth South 6: The Panthers lost at home.

Bridgewater-Raynham 8, Mansfield 6: On Saturday, the visiting Trojans (2-0) had five different goal-scorers, led by Brendan Rosher (hat trick). Goalie Shaun LaCivita made 13 saves.

Falmouth 8, Whitman-Hanson 3: On Saturday, the Panthers (2-1) lost at home despite goals from Matt Solari, Collin Murphy and Connor McCarthy, plus 10 saves from goalie David MacNeil.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Norwell 12, Weymouth 11: Danielle Cox had 6 goals and an assist as the Clippers (2-1) won a non-league match at home. Holly Panttila (2 goals, 5 draw controls), Margot Bonnevie (2 goals, assist) and Charlotte Pithie (10 saves) also starred. Weymouth was led by Cameron Flaherty (5 points), Megan Doyle (3 goals, 13 draw controls, 3 caused turnovers, 4 ground balls), Mira Flaherty (3 goals), Kendall Rogers (goal) and Molly Higgins (goal).

Oliver Ames 19, Stoughton 6: Erin Cottam (5 goals, 2 assists) Kayla Magit (4 goals, 4 assists), Leanna Hudson (4 goals) and Catie Wilson (4 goals) starred for host OA. Gabriella Nastasia and Olivia O’Rourke (assist) also scored, and Hailey Golden had 2 assists.

Hull 17, East Bridgewater 5: Ava Russo made 10 saves for the Pirates in the South Shore League road win.

Wellesley 13, Hingham 2: The Harborwomen lost a non-league match at home.

BOYS TENNIS

Hingham 5, Marshfield 0: Parker Shultz, Ethan Warhaftig, Charlie Donahue, Teddy Reilly, Logan Price, Charlie Even and John Murray all won in straight sets for host Hingham.

Scituate 4, Quincy 1: Ethan Sheng notched the lone victory for the Presidents at second singles, 7-5, 5-7, 10-7.

Duxbury 5, Whitman Hanson 0: The visiting Dragons improved to 3-0. The Panthers dropped to 1-2.

Oliver Ames 3, King Philip 2: The Tigers won at home.

GIRLS TENNIS

Braintree 4, Weymouth 1: Haily Pham and Jolin Yang each won, 6-0, 6-0, at first and second singles, respectively, for the visiting Wamps.

Duxbury 5, Whitman-Hanson 0: Caroline Sutliffe (No. 1), Annabel Keating (No. 2) and Luna Porciatti (No. 3) won in singles for the host Dragons. Duxbury also swept the doubles with the teams of Agnes Buell/Taylor Florek (No. 1) and Bird Koss/Fifi Schlosser (No. 2). W-H dropped to 2-2.

Falmouth 3, Bridgewater-Raynham 2: In the road loss for B-R, captain Holly Nichols won, 6-2, 6-3, at second singles, and Eily Mitchell and Lily Cooley won, 6-2, 7-6 (7-1), at second doubles.

King Philip 4, Oliver Ames 1: Hannah Farber rallied to win, 1-6, 7-5, 6-0, at first singles for OA's lone point.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Quincy 3, Randolph 1: The Presidents (4-1) won on the road, 25-15, 25-20, 17-25, 25-9. Quincy had 15 aces, 40 kills on 36 assists and 46 digs as a team.

North Quincy 3, Taunton 1: The Raiders won their Southern Alliance debut.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD

Quincy/North Quincy 90, Scituate 37: Jayden Francois won the triple jump and 110m hurdles for Q/NQ (1-1), and Kyle Clements won the mile.

Archies goes 2-1: On Saturday, Archbishop Williams beat Bishop Stang, 69-58, and Cathedral, 75-51, and lost to Bishop Feehan, 99-33. Winners for Archies were: Gianvito Montillo (2-mile; 10:47.00) and Amir Chapman (triple jump; 39-6).

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

Scituate 69, Quincy/North Quincy 64: Hannah Moriarty won the 400m and the 400m hurdles (school-record :68.5) for Q/NQ (0-2), and Lena Waldron took the 200m.

Archies goes 2-1: On Saturday, Archbishop Williams beat Bishop Stang, 90-60, and Cathedral, 87-28, and lost to Bishop Feehan, 92-35. Winners for Archies were: Kaitlyn Burke (55m; :13.74), Maddie Hussey (mile; 5:40.52), Abby Bemis (2-mile; 13:54.80) and Katie Santamaria (100m hurdles; :19.27 and long jump; 16-2).

GIRLS GOLF

Wellesley 6, Braintree 0: Lexi Curtis and Lily Baszkiewicz played well for the Wamps in the loss.
