HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: East Bridgewater boys golf wastes no time clinching tourney trip

The East Bridgewater High boys golf team wasted no time in qualifying for the state tournament.

A 107-100 win over Norwell on Friday improved the Vikings record to 7-0 on the season, which earns them a trip to the Division 3 Central Tournament.

Against Norwell, Matt Werra starred by carding a 3-over par to tally 24 Stableford points. He was the match medalist. Jake Redder (21 points) also played well.

BOYS GOLF

Bridgewater-Raynham 137, Dartmouth 113: Richie Thayer was the medalist with a 37.

Hingham 244, Duxbury 249: JD Flynn and Carson Erick both carded 38s in the win for Hingham, which stays undefeated in the Patriot League. Duxbury's Tom Greenwood was the match medalist with a 38.

GIRLS SOCCER

Avon 7, Bristol Aggie 1: Gianna Rosa played well defensively and tallied two goals for the Panthers (2-1). Hanelie Cadet (assist) and Emma MacDonald both tallied two goals. Brynn Gaynor added an assist. Kate Austrino also played well, scoring a goal and adding two assists.

Notre Dame Academy 4, Scituate 3: Lindsay Wilson scored a pair of goals for the Cougars.

Whitman-Hanson 2, Pembroke 2: Ella Nagle and Makenna Marshall scored goals for the Panthers while Lexi Cole, Elizabeth Kowlski also played well. Emma Cranston and Bella Gill scored for the Titans.

West Bridgewater 5, Middleboro 0: Kylie Fuller had a hat trick while Amanda Jacques handed out three assists for the Wildcats. Rachael Geniuch and Ava Xayavong also scored while Kerri Gomes recorded the shutout.

Archbishop Williams 7, Fontbonne Academy 0: Ciara Wood (two) and Julia Studley recorded their first varsity goals for the Bishops (6-1).

BOYS SOCCER

Archbishop Williams 4, Hull 0: Wonnira Sumani scored two goals and had an assist while Nate Morris (eight saves) recorded his sixth shutout of the season for the Bishops (6-1).

West Bridgewater 2, Middleboro 1: Ryan McGrath scored a goal for the Wildcats (3-2-1) and assisted on Ben Fuller's goal in the win.

Old Rochester Regional 8, Cardinal Spellman 2: Nate Monteiro scored both goals in the loss while Leo Fleming had an assist. Thomas DaSilva played well on both ends.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

North Quincy 3, Hanover 0: Bella Pineau (four kills, five aces) and Sarah Long (five kills) played well for the Hawks, but the Raiders improved to 7-1 with the win.

Archbishop Williams 3, Fontbonne Academy 0: Tess O'Neil tallied seven digs while Catherine Berlo had 25 assists and five kills.

Quincy 3, Plymouth South 0: The Presidents (6-2) won at home (25-13, 25-18, 25-14). Quincy had 19 aces, 18 kills on 17 assists and 5 blocks as a team.

Rockland 3, Falmouth 2: Sydney Blaney (nine kills, 14 digs), Kiara Miguel (eight kills, 11 digs), Tori Hynes (five kills) and Maggie Ellie (five aces) led the way for the Bulldogs.

Hingham 3, Whitman-Hanson 1: Riley Codero, Ruby Scriven and Sophie Ennis played well in the loss for the Panthers (5-3).

Scituate 3, Pembroke 1: The Sailors won the Patriot League game.

FIELD HOCKEY

Middleboro 1, Bishop Stang 1: Casey Regan scored for the Sachems.

Braintree 3, Silver Lake 0: Bridget Lee scored twice, assisted by Julianna Summers and Ella Woods, and Julianna Summers added a goal for the Wamps (6-1). Bella Corcoran posted her fourth shutout of the season.

Marshfield 4, Duxbury 1: Erin Boyd scored twice, and Taylor Brilliant and Lyla Hunter added goals for the Rams (3-1-1).
