HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Fontbonne basketball tops Pembroke to run win streak to six games

These Ducks are flying.

Junior forward Tress Murphy had 15 points and 4 rebounds Thursday night as the Fontbonne Academy basketball team beat Pembroke, 53-28, on the road to stretch its winning streak to six games.

The Ducks (10-3) also clinched a spot in the MIAA Division 3 playoffs. They entered the week No. 13 in the latest power rankings.

Junior center Lilly Blow, of Hanover, added 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 blocks for Fontbonne, whose three losses this season have come by a combined 7 points. One of those setbacks was to Pembroke, 38-36, on Dec. 22.

Sophomore guard Maggie Bedard (10 points, 3 assists) also starred for the Ducks, along with senior point guard Alix Abelard, of Milton, who chipped in 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Mashpee 50, Abington 37: Ella Williamson had 16 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals, but the Green Wave (8-9, 3-8) lost a South Shore League game at home. Ava Williamson (9 points), Rebecca Rix (8 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 blocks, 4 steals), Mary Klein (8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals), Sarah Deveney (4 points, 4 rebounds) and Bella Abrams (2 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals) also starred for Abington.

Blue Hills 46, Bristol-Plymouth 31: Ally Johnson (Holbrook), Kathleen Murphy and Bridget Devine (Braintree) each scored 10 points to lead the Warriors (13-2) to a home win.

South Shore Tech 43, Bristol County 34: Zoey Bradshaw scored 11 points, and Mari Demaggio and Abby Pattison each added 9 points for the Vikings (13-2, 6-1) in the Mayflower Athletic Conference road win.

East Bridgewater 49, West Bridgewater 38: Phoebe Katilus, Chloe Lang and Emma Farrell each scored 12 points as the Vikings (10-7) beat the Wildcats at home in non-league action.

Sandwich 53, Cohasset 37: The Skippers (9-6) dropped a non-league road game.

BOYS BASKETBALL

South Shore Tech 62, Bristol Aggie 26: Brandon LaFleur (22 points, 8 assists) and Jesse Lyons (12 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists) starred for the Vikings (6-9) in the home win.

BOYS HOCKEY

Xaverian 3, BC High 1: The Eagles (5-8-1) lost a Catholic Conference game at home.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Latin Academy/Fontbonne Academy 1, St. Joseph Prep/Mount Alvernia 0: LA/FA (7-6-1) won at Shea Rink in Quincy.

GIRLS GYMNASTICS

Pembroke/Silver Lake 138.1, Plymouth North/South 128.4: On Wednesday, Pembroke/Silver Lake's Kenzie Mackinaw won the all-around with a score of 35.5. Plymouth's Cece Maines (33.25) was second, and teammate Rya Grobleski (31.7) was third. Mackinaw won vault (8.7), bars (9.4) and floor exercise (8.9). Teammate Maya Bergamesca won balance beam (9.0).

Scituate 132, Hingham/Hull 132: In Wednesday's tie, Scituate's Ciara Hughes won vault (8.6) and bars (8.7) and was second on beam (8.4) and floor (8.8). Hingham/Hull's Sienna Besser won beam (8.7), and teammate Taylor Delaney won floor (9.0).

GIRLS SWIMMING/DIVING

Plymouth North/South 93, Pembroke 72: On Tuesday, Molly Lutz won the 50 freestyle (:28.50) and 100 butterfly (1:12.09) to power Plymouth. Maggie Cizmar won the 100 free (1:09.22), Molly St. Gelais captured the 100 backstroke (1:09.97), and Plymouth won three relays – 200 medley (Kasey Joyce, St. Gelais, Addyson Doyle, Lutz in 2:14.85); 200 free (Cizmar, Lilah Provenzano, Sam Adams, St. Gelais in 2:03.41); and 400 free (Doyle, Cizmar, Joyce, Lutz in 4:30.09).

BOYS SWIMMING/DIVING

Pembroke 90, Plymouth North/South 76: On Tuesday, Plymouth's Jack Tessin won the 200 freestyle (2:04.28) and 100 free (:56.59), and Nate Derby won the 200 IM (2:06.18) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.97). Plymouth also won two relays – the 200 medley (Zack Adams, Derby, Kai Waters, Tessin in 1:52.75) and the 400 free (Adams, Waters, Tessin, Derby in 3:58.06).
