HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Four Hanover boys basketball players stuff stat sheet in win over W-H

There wasn't one standout on the Hanover High boys basketball team Tuesday.

There were several.

In a teamwide contribution, the trio of Jake Peterson (20 points), James Ritchie (19 points) and Charlie Carroll (17 points) combined for 56 points, while David Quinlan dominated on the glass with 16 rebounds to power the Hawks past Whitman-Hanson at home, 76-70. Now winners of three of its last four, Hanover stands 6-5 on the season.

For Whitman-Hanson, freshman Isaiah Bean Brittian's 28-point outburst wasn't enough to play spoiler, and Ryan Baker added 20 points. Whitman-Hanson drops to 8-5.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Carver 75, Abington 67: Tyler Lennox led the Crusaders (9-4, 5-4 South Shore League) with 20 points. Jameson Helms netted a career-high 16 points, Kevin Ginnetty had 11, JJ Grimes had 9 and Charlie Condon had 7. For Abington (6-7, 4-5), Connor Pease collected 24 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks, Tyler Staiti scored 20 points and Hunter Maxwell had 13 points.

Malden Catholic 65, BC High 34: The Eagles (4-8) were defeated in the Catholic Conference battle.

Archbishop Williams 77, Bishop Feehan 57: For the unbeaten Bishops (11-0), junior Andres Espaillat scored 21 points and junior Tristan Rodriguez knocked down four triples en route to a 17-point night, while seniors Josh Campbell (12 points), Nate Pelton (11 points) and Lorenzo Jackson (6 points, 8 rebounds) played well.

Newton North 60, Braintree 35: The Wamps (4-8) lost this Bay State Conference game.

Brockton 61, St. Mary's 57: Jordon Fontes got the game-winning basket to drop with 14 seconds left to hand the Boxers a non-league win.

Canton 55, King Philip 51: Matt Chaflin led the Bulldogs (7-5) with 16 points. Jeremiah Predin added 11 points in the win.

East Bridgewater 43, Cohasset 42: Dylan Kaplinger (10 points) converted an and-1 layup with one second remaining to edge the Vikings (8-4) past the Skippers. Mike Oman (11 points) and Ethan Pohl (9 points) also played well in the win.

Duxbury 56, Quincy 52: Tate Fiedler led the Dragons with 16 points, while Trevor Jones followed closely with 14 points and Brian Mahoney finished with 9.

Hingham 64, North Quincy 52: Liam McBride shined with 25 points and 14 rebounds for the Harbormen, who also got an all-around display from Danny Kent (12 points, 15 rebounds). Zach Taylor led North Quincy (9-4, 8-2 Patriot League) with 26 points and 6 rebounds.

Middleboro 73, Hull 42: Nick Marzelli (18 points), Jacob Briggs (17 points) and Matt Youngquist (15 points) combined for big days as the Sachems (9-4) secured a South Shore League win.

Pembroke 64, Marshfield 40: Joey Dwyer shined with 25 points for the Titans (6-6), who also got quality days from Brady Spencer (14 points) and Devanti Perry (12 points).

Taunton 46, Oliver Ames 43: This Hockomock League meeting didn't go the Tigers' (4-8) way.

Wellesley 56, Milton 34: The Wildcats lost this Bay State Conference matchup.

Scituate 56, Plymouth North 50: Senior Kyle Mullen (10 points, 12 rebounds), Michael Porter (10 points) and Dawit Quilty (10 points) paced the Sailors (8-3) to a Patriot League win. Nick Marcel scored 19 points and Hunter Byron scored 12 for the Eagles (4-9) in the loss.

Plymouth South 41, Silver Lake 35: The win boosts the Panthers to 8-2 on the season, behind sophomore Noah Brilliant scoring his first varsity points en route to a crucial 8-point outburst in the fourth quarter. Jeremy Leonard scored 14 points for Silver Lake.

Randolph 63, Mashpee 41: The Blue Devils (10-3) were led by Dylan Swinton's 20 points, as well as 11 points apiece from Isaiah Michel and Jordan Nash.

Arlington Catholic 93, Southeastern 57: The Hawks dropped the non-league game.

Stoughton 73, Milford 63: Jayden Costa-Haywood (24 points) and Matt Greenspoon (19 points) combined for a productive effort in the win.

Natick 59, Weymouth 31: Cam Nordstrom led the Wildcats (6-7) with 12 points.

Holbrook 75, Wayland 58: On Monday, Armani Perkins (38 points), Allen Brown (14 points), Owen Burke (12 points) and Malachi Desire (7 points, 12 rebounds) starred in the win.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bishop Feehan 79, Archbishop Williams 35: Eliana Jackson scored 17 points, but the Bishops (8-4, 1-3) lost a Catholic Central League road game.

Abington 61, Carver 53: Eighteen points from senior forward Ashleigh Johnson led the Crusaders (4-8) in the loss.

Newton North 50, Braintree 24: Hannah Sherrick scored 7 points in the loss.

King Philip 47, Canton 43: The Bulldogs dropped the Hockomock League game.

Ursuline 45, Cardinal Spellman 41: The Cardinals lost in narrow fashion.

Cohasset 39, East Bridgewater 29: Senior Emma Goff led Cohasset (8-3) with 11 points and junior Sarah Chenette added 10. Abbie Goff, Laney Larsen and Catherine Toomey each made solid contributions on both ends of the court for the Skippers. For EB (8-6, 5-4 South Shore League), freshman Jess Long scored 8 points, and freshman Emma Farrell and senior Chloe Lang scored 7 points apiece.

Quincy 53, Duxbury 33: Alyssa Hopps (18 points) and Caroline Tracey (14) combined for 32 points as Quincy improved to 11-1 with the win. Duxbury was led by sophomore Ava Welch (12 points) and senior captain Amanda Donovan (7 points).

Whitman-Hanson 45, Hanover 40: Senior captain Caitlin Leahy and freshman Jenna Mishou each tallied a game-high 12 points, while Taryn Leonard added 10 points for the Panthers (9-4, 9-1 Patriot League) in the win.

Hingham 51, North Quincy 40: Junior Ava Bryan scored 21 of her 25 points in the second half for the Raiders.

Pembroke 54, Marshfield 37: The Titans won the Patriot League game.

Oliver Ames 63, Taunton 32: Kam Derba led all scorers with 16 points and added 4 assists, while Kaydance Derba (13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks), Sarah Hilliard (10 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals) and Maddie Homer (4 points, 9 rebounds) also played major roles in the win.

Wellesley 34, Milton 15: The Wildcats lost this Bay State Conference game.

Rockland 59, Norwell 45: Zariah Ottley led the Bulldogs' attack of four double-digit scorers with 17 points. Norwell's Madison Oliver scored 18 in the loss.

Plymouth North 51, Scituate 49: Jenna Cappola scored 10 points in the fourth quarter as the Eagles grabbed their 10th win of the season in narrow fashion. In the loss, the Sailors got strong games from Grace McNamara (20 points, 7 rebounds), Grace Love (14 points, 3 blocks) and Lindsay Hausmann (7 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals).

Silver Lake 51, Plymouth South 40: The Lakers (4-10) followed Cat deMacedo's 19 points to victory.

Mashpee 69, Randolph 28: The Blue Devils (0-12) lost this South Shore League meeting.

Milford 47, Stoughton 45: The Black Knights (2-9) lost a tightly contested battle.

Weymouth 45, Natick 37: Meg Doyle had 16 points, 17 rebounds and 6 steals to power the Wildcats. Callie Flynn (8 points) and Ainsley Weber (7 points) also contributed.

Blue Hills 51, Upper Cape Tech 38: Freshman Ally Johnson, of Holbrook, scored a career-high 15 points to lead the Warriors (9-2) to a non-league win. Sophomores Bella Sulfaro (16 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals) and Kathleen Murphy (10 points, 10 rebounds) also starred.

Middleboro 47, Hull 34: The Sachems (7-7) climbed back to the .500 mark behind 13 points from freshman Julia Fernandes, 11 points from sophomore Natalie Kerstein and 10 points from freshman Hailey Iwanski.

GIRLS SWIMMING

Bridgewater-Raynham 87, Brockton 71: B-R senior Jessie McNeil won both of her individual events (50 free and 100 backstroke) and qualified for states in both events. Senior captain Sammy Bean also won both her individual events (200 freestyle and 100 butterfly) for the Trojans, who finish the regular season with a 6-1 record.

BOYS SWIMMING

Bridgewater-Raynham 90, Brockton 70: The Trojans (7-0) finished the regular season undefeated as senior captains Cam Hogg and Jack Werb each won their individual events:- Hogg, 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke; Werb, 200-meter and 100 breaststroke. Both pitched in on the two winning relay teams − the 200 medley and the 200 freestyle − alongside Cooper Hammond, Cole Bridges and Dante Kirika. Bridges came away with an individual win in the 100 fly.

BOYS INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Archbishop Williams 55, Arlington Catholic 27: The Bishops (2-2) got wins from Liam Halpin (300 meters), Joe Mento (1,000m), Eamonn Fennell (mile), Jack Paula (long jump), Leo Lovering (shot put) and the 4x400m relay of Brayden Mastogiacomo, Mento, Alex Coulson and Fennell.

Brockton 63, New Bedford 28: The Boxers' win was spearheaded by the first-place finishes of Karens Antoine, Lucas Andrade, Henry Tait and Christensen Paul.

GIRLS INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Archbishop Williams 59, Arlington Catholic 28: Erin O'Toole won the 55 meters (:7.95) and 300m (:46.73), and Hannah Griffin captured the 1,000m (3:33.22) and shot put (22-8.5) for the Bishops (3-1). Other winners were Maddie Hussey (2-mile); Abby Bemis (high jump); Katie Santamaria (long jump); the 4x200m relay of Keira Bretagne, Novia Nguyen, Molly Bita and Gabby Sellars; and the 4x400m relay of Griffin, Mary Armstrong, Bemis and Hussey.

GIRLS GYMNASTICS

NDA 138.55, Carver/Middleboro 123.3: Katie McCormack won the all-around (36.25) and all four events − vault (9.3), bars (8.7), beam (9.05) and floor (9.2) − for host NDA. Emily Lembo was second in the all-around (34.5) and tied teammate Sophia Chavez on bars for second (8.6). Chavez also took second on floor (9.0). Lily DeGiacomo came in second in both the vault (9.0) and the beam (8.5).
