HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Friday's scores and highlights

The Hanover High girls lacrosse team had a good Friday.

The Hawks defeated Plymouth North, 14-8, behind 10 saves from Ella Heyl. Anna Mahoney, Hannah Geary, Olivia Damon, Mary Elliot and Izzy MacLellan also played well defensively.

Freshman Kayden Smith led the offense with 4 goals. Eva Kelliher added a hat trick while Ayla McDermod, Sophie Schiller and Samantha Burke had 2 goals apiece. Cailyn McCarthy added the other goal.

BASEBALL

Brockton 5, North Quincy 4: The Boxers improve to 2-0 behind a strong start from freshman Aaron Glaneuski (4⅓ innings, 5 strikeouts). Zeke Inchaustegui had the save in relief. Inchaustegui and Armani LoRusso powered the offense with multi-hit games. North Quincy senior captain Alex Montero had 2 hits and 2 RBI in the loss. He also struck out three batters in one inning of relief pitching. Charlie Baker and Vinny O’Leary drove in runs for NQ, and Charlie Ambroult scored twice.

Duxbury 11, Nauset 5: Nick Ayres hit a grand slam in the win for the Dragons.

Bridgewater-Raynham 10, Framingham 0: Evan Samsel (4⅔ innings, 5 strikeouts, runs) earned the win for the Trojans (3-0) while Kevin Doyle (3-for-5, 2 RBIs), Cam Morrison (2 hits, RBI) and Chase Balutis (2 RBIs) led the offense.

SOFTBALL

Plymouth North 6, Monomoy 4: Molly Ryan (4 hits) and Haylee Joudrey (3 runs) led the offense. Marissa Durette earned the win in the circle, pitching 7 innings and striking out 7 batters. The Blue Eagles took the lead in the seventh when Bella Piekarski led off with a triple. Durette and Elle Snyder followed with doubles.

Bridgewater-Raynham 2, Greater New Bedford Voke 1: Ky Hicks and Olivia Roy each drove in a run while Lily Welch allowed 2 hits and struck out 11 in the circle for B-R (2-0). Emma Flaherty and Taylor Reid each had 2 hits.

Cohasset 8, Quincy 3: The Skippers (4-0) won the non-league game behind home runs by Catherine Toomey and Taylor Soderberg.

Brockton 12, Weymouth 0: The Boxers won the non-league game.

Cardinal Spellman 13, Ursuline 1: Taylor Dolan tossed a 2-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the 6-inning win for the Cardinals. She also went 2-for-2 with a home run. Lucy LaCara was 2-for-2 and Ava Nabstedt hit a home run.

Marshfield 14, Pembroke 1: Sam Bongiolatti had 3 hits and 2 RBIs while Sofia Blanco earned the win on the mound with 6 strikeouts for the Rams (2-0). Jess Morrison, Emily Harper, Sarah McIntyre and Haylie McPhee each had 2 hits.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Hull 15, East Bridgewater 4: The Pirates rolled in their home opener.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

North Quincy 3, Brockton 0: The Raiders won the non-league battle.

BOYS TENNIS

Hingham 5, Cohasset 0: Parker Schultz, Travis Rugg and Ethan Warhaftig won in singles for visiting Hingham, which also swept the doubles with the teams of Nick Dubois/Ben LaRhette and Will Baker/Liam Arnold.
