HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Fuller strikes twice to power West Bridgewater boys soccer

Senior captain Ben Fuller scored twice, and Ryan Estrella added a goal and two assists Tuesday to lead the West Bridgewater High boys soccer team to a 6-2 home win over Bishop Connolly.

Eighth-graders Brendan Marinelli and Kyle Lyman tallied their first varsity goals for the Wildcats (4-2-1). Jamie Sheedy also scored, and George Baroud had an assist.

BOYS SOCCER

Hanover 4, North Quincy 0: Aiden Richards (two), Ben Elliot and Ned McCann scored for the Hawks (4-2-2) while James Solari recorded his third shutout of the season.

Quincy 3, Plymouth South 0: Alex Carmona-Montufar scored twice, and Will Wismar added a goal for the Presidents.

Plymouth North 2, Duxbury 0: Ben Young and Josh Murray scored for the Eagles in the win. Enzo Brini and Kevin Riley had assists while Colin Perec-Riley and Drew Healy played well.

Pembroke 6, Scituate 1: Declan Crowley (two), Sam Boussy (two), Wil McManus and Evan Jacobson scored for the Titans (7-0). Ethan Sullivan handed out two assists.

Hingham 5, Whitman-Hanson 0: Aiden Brazel scored twice, and Cole Sampson, Sam Benham and Riley Mellish added goals for the Harbormen (3-0-3). Dillon Galanis played well in net for the Panthers (2-4).

Durfee 3, Bridgewater-Raynham 2: Banks Beckwith and Kyle Perez Magee (first on varsity) scored goals for the Trojans as they narrowly missed upsetting the undefeated Hilltoppers. Cole Bridges played well defensively.

GIRLS SOCCER

Hanover 3, North Quincy 0: Madison Pongratz, Maelyn Foley, and Sophie Schiller scored for Hanover while Sophia Foley had two assists. Mia Pongratz and Natalie Mutschler shared the shutout.

Notre Dame Academy 6, Malden Catholic 0: Siobhan Colin had a hat trick, Sydney Comeau added two goals, and Ella Luongo also scored for NDA.

Atlantis Charter 2, Avon 1: Kate Austrino scored the lone goal for Avon (2-2), assisted by Brynn Gaynor. Gianna Rosa and Dahlia Parent were defensive standouts in the loss, and goalkeeper Mica Gomes made 5 saves.

Cohasset 5, Mashpee 1: Tess Barrett (assist) and Ava Carcio both had two goals for the Skippers. Sarah Conroy tallied the other goal.

Blue Hulls 6, Bristol-Plymouth 2: Kathleen Murphy and Rose Ferguson (Holbrook) tallied two goals apiece for the Warriors (4-0-2). Emily Lehane (Braintree) and Alexis D'Arcy each had a solo tally.

Hingham 5, Whitman-Hanson 0: Emily Gibbons (2), Sophie Reale, Ava Varholak and Claire Murray scored second-half goals to lift the Harborwomen (6-0-2). Brooke McAloney, Makenna Marshall and Anna Schnabel played well in the loss for W-H (2-3-1).

Durfee 3, Bridgewater-Raynham 2: Lily Ford and Breanna Reid scored in the loss for B-R (5-3). Isabella Fischer and Isabella Johnson also played well.

Duxbury 2, Plymouth North 2: Parker Metzler and Beth Yucius scored, both assisted by Josie Lee, for Duxbury (3-1-2) in the Patriot League tie.

Plymouth South 3, Quincy 2: The Panthers edged the Presidents in Patriot League action.

FIELD HOCKEY

Carver 0, St. John Paul II 0: Senior captains Ashleigh Johnson and Isabelle Mercer were defensive standouts as the Crusaders (4-1-2) played to a tie. Senior Jenna Newell and junior Maddy Butler had strong games, and junior goalkeeper Ali Perry made six saves.

Thayer Academy 1, Milton Academy 1: Freshman Dakota Adams' first career goal helped the Tigers earn an ISL tie.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Norwell 3, Middleboro 0: Sarah Pegurri had eight kills for the Clippers (8-0) in the sweep (25-14, 25-16, 25-16). Izzy Woodman and Danielle Cox combined for 13 kills, eight digs and six aces.

Cardinal Spellman 3, St. Mary's (Lynn) 1: Coach Jack Olson picked up his 500th career win as the Cardinals improved to 7-1.

Abington 3, South Shore Christian Academy 0: Brenna O'Brien (nine aces) and Kayla Sullivan (eight aces) led the way for the Green Wave in the sweep (25-14, 25-15, 25-19).

Bishop Feehan 3, Archbishop Williams 1: Senior Catherine Berlo had 22 assists, 5 kills, and 3 aces for Williams in the loss.

BOYS GOLF

Scituate 98, Weymouth 68: Zach Fernandes shot 3-under-par 33 to lead the Sailors (9-1) to a non-league win in Stableford scoring at Weathervane Golf Club. Ryan Martin (38), Stephen Marshall (42), Andrew Belsan (42) and Henry Gack (43) also contributed.

Duxbury 254, Quincy 275, Silver Lake 278: The Dragons swept a tri-match behind solid rounds from Tom Greenwood (37), Owen Hamilton (39) and Matt NeJame (40). Duxbury (11-2) qualified for the state tournament with the win. Jack Dunn (Quincy) and Max Linares (Silver Lake) both carded a 38.

Archbishop Williams 203, Matignon 76: Brady Sullivan shot a 2-under-par 34 for the Bishops (8-2) at Granite Links Golf Course. Andrew Marcotte (36) and Aaron McCarthy (38) also played well.

Middleboro 96, Carver 88: Middleboro's Connor McNaughton earned 19 points in the final match to clinch the win for the Sachems.

Norwell 125, Mashpee 81: Griffin Link carded a 3-over-par 38 for the Clippers (8-2). Matt Dassatti shot a 39.

Rising Tide 98, Carver 96: Ethan Norberg (birdie, four pars), Eamon Godzik (five pars) and Michael Keif (four pars) played well in the win.

North Quincy 220, Whitman-Hanson 238; Plymouth North 214, W-H 238: Harry Chase and Cooper Britton played well for the Panthers.

Bridgewater-Raynham 147, Durfee 91: Justin Peters was the medalist, carding a 1-under-par 35 at Old Scotland Links. Pat Concannon and Riche Thayer both shot a 38.

Hingham 241, Plymouth South 274: J.D. Flynn shot a 37 to help the Harbormen remain undefeated.

Oliver Ames 144, Stoughton 182: Junior co-captain Sean Kearns was low medalist with a 1-under 33 at Pine Oaks for OA (7-0). Junior David Rodgers shot 36.

Silver Lake 268, Whitman Hanson 300: On Monday, Max Linares shot 40 to lift the Lakers.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

West Bridgewater 19, Tri-County 38: Ella Dunbury won her fifth race in a row (in 20:39 over 5K) for the Wildcats (4-3). Viviana Morales Wakin (2nd), Katherine Donovan (4th), and Lilly Andrews (5th) all scored.

Marshfield 15, Silver Lake 46: The Rams (3-0) swept the top five spots with Ava LoVuolo (1st, 18:47 over 2.68 miles), Eleanor Angeles-Whitfield (2nd, 18:47), Ava Brunswick (3rd, 19:11), Charlotte Perreault (4th, 19:11) and Meredith Miller (5th, 19:12). For Silver Lake (0-4), junior Erin Flaherty was sixth in 19:47.1

Archbishop Williams splits: Maddie Hussey was second overall in 17:05 as the Bishops (3-1) beat Arlington Catholic, 15-50, and lost to Bishop Feehan, 19-44.

Hanover 27, Quincy/North Quincy 31: Hanover's Cameron Bradford took first while Q/NQ's Salma Boukhtam was second. Aluna Coogan-Coyne (third) and Mollie Nelson (fourth) also ran well for QNQ (2-1).

Bishop Fenwick 15, Cardinal Spellman 48; St. Mary's 21, Spellman 36: Amanda Mohan was the top finisher for the Cardinals.

Whitman-Hanson 24, Plymouth North 37: Sky Bucc-Anderson was the top finisher for the Panthers (2-2) placing second. McKenna McCarthy finished fourth.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Marshfield 20, Silver Lake 43: Spencer Cook won the 2.68-mile race for Silver Lake in 15:23, but the Rams swept the next nine spots, led by Connor Wehr (2nd, 15:43), Graham Heinrich (3rd, 15:43), Tony Vitelli (4th, 15:47) and Tyler McCredie (5th, 15:47).

West Bridgewater 19, Tri-County 42: Bryce Leighton won his second race of the season, covering the 5K course in 19:04 to lead WB (3-4) to a home win. Ryan Geniuch (3rd), Kenly Laime (4th) and Cam Frates (5th) also starred.

Archbishop Williams splits: Gianvito Montillo won the race in 14:30 as the Bishops (2-2) beat Arlington Catholic, 17-46, and lost to Bishop Feehan, 20-39.

Quincy/North Quincy 15, Hanover 44: David Schmidt took first for Q/NQ (2-1) while Nate Hoyt was Hanover's top finisher in sixth.

Bishop Fenwick 29, Cardinal Spellman 30; St. Mary's 15, Spellman 44: James Roper was Spellman's top finisher.

Plymouth North 23, Whitman-Hanson 34: Alex Kehayias finished third for the Panthers (1-3).

Duxbury 24, Hingham 33: The Green Dragons edged the Harbormen in Patriot League action.
