HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Hanover field hockey blanks Silver Lake to get over .500

Emma Hammett scored one goal and set up Ava Toglia for the other Wednesday as the Hanover High field hockey team beat Silver Lake, 2-0, in Patriot League action.

Sami Burke, Meredith DeCoste, McKenzie Foley and Maren Hines played well defensively for the Hawks (3-2-2). Goalies MaryKate Vermette and Olivia Campo combined for the shutout.

FIELD HOCKEY

Braintree 6, Framingham 0: Bridget Lee had a hat trick, and Ella Woods, Juliana Summers and Callie Burchill scored for the visiting Wamps (8-1). Assists went to Woods (2), Burchill and Tessa Marston. Goalkeeper Bella Corcoran posted her sixth shutout of the season.

Plymouth North 5, Duxbury 0: Lily Johnson recorded her third shutout of the season while Stella Kirkpatrick had a hat trick for the Blue Eagles (5-3). Maeve Campbell scored a goal and added three assists.

Whitman-Hanson 0, Plymouth South 0: Lillie MacKinnon, Brooke Kreckler and Grace Cosgrave played well for W-H (0-5-2) in the home tie.

Hingham 5, Pembroke 0: Sophomore Haylen Wilson had a hat trick, and junior Stella Brazis added a goal and two assists for the Harborwomen (7-1, 6-0 Patriot League).

Scituate 3, Marshfield 1: The Sailors (3-2-3) edged the Rams (3-3-1).

Franklin 4, Canton 2: The Bulldogs (6-1) suffered their first loss.

Oliver Ames 4, North Attleboro 1: The Tigers (4-3) won at home.

BOYS SOCCER

Oliver Ames 3, North Attleboro 0: Casey Milliken, Ryan Linhares and Mikey MacAdams (penalty kick) scored for the Tigers (5-0-2, 5-0-1 Hockomock League). Goalkeeper Drew Hall recorded his third shutout of the season, and Hector Bucio, Jake Williams, Diego Riveira and Jackson Mercieri played well for the OA in the back.

Cardinal Spellman 11, Arlington Catholic 2: Caleb Green exploded for six goals as the Cardinals (1-6) picked up their first win of the season. Nate Monteiro tallied four goals and two assists. Henok Jones contributed a goal and an assist.

East Bridgewater 5, Mashpee 0: Mathias Floeck and Zach Higgins each scored twice, Lucas Sylvia added a goal, and goalkeeper Anthony Patete kept the clean sheet for EB.

Cohasset 2, Abington 0: The Skippers improved to 3-5 overall, 3-0 in the South Shore League.

Norwell 2, Hull 0: Caleb White and Holden MacAvoy scored for the Clippers (6-1-2).

Taunton 3, Stoughton 2: Sam Santos and Matheus Groberio scored for Stoughton.

Milton Academy 5, Thayer Academy 0: The Mustangs blanked the Tigers in ISL action.

GIRLS SOCCER

Quincy 8, Fontbonne Academy 1: Grace Connor had a hat trick, Mairead Folan scored twice, and Eliza Henry, Adriana Daniels and Gabriela Triplett added goals for the Presidents.

Cohasset 5, Abington 0: Tess Barrett had two goals, and Lylah Jackson scored her first varsity goal and followed up with another for the Skippers (4-1-1). Ava Carcio started the scoring off a Tess Barrett corner kick.

Stoughton 5, Taunton 2: Shayla Ford and Makenzie O’Connor each scored twice as the Black Knights (3-4-1) won a Hockomock League home game. Bianca Casna had the fifth goal, and Molly Fox made 7 saves.

Middleboro 2, Carver 1: Elleana Bush and Rachel Ferioli scored, and Lila Peddie and Mary Cox added assists for the Sachems.

Norwell 4, Hull 0: Anja Johnson scored twice, and Eden Wheeler and Ari Veneto added goals for the Clippers (2-0-5).

Natick 2, Notre Dame Academy 1: The Cougars (4-3-1) dropped a non-league game.

East Bridgewater 5, Mashpee 3: The Vikings (4-1-1) won a South Shore League matchup.

Milton Academy 2, Thayer Academy 1: Taryn Madsen scored in the loss for Thayer.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

North Quincy 3, Plymouth South 2: Olivia Bailey had 20 assists, and Jen Lee added 8 kills, 15 digs and 9 aces as the Raiders dug out of an 0-2 hole to win, 16-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-8, 15-9. Zixian Situ (13 digs) and Ava Bryan (9 kills) also starred for NQ (9-1).

Oliver Ames 3, North Attleboro 0: The Tigers earned the sweep (25-11, 25-18, 25-18) behind Caroline Hansen (10 kills), Sarah Hilliard (20 kills), Claire Kavoulis (25 assists), Maddie Homer (19 digs) and Courtney Raymond (3 kills, 5 aces).

Notre Dame Academy 3, Falmouth 0: NDA (5-4) won, 25-21, 25-16, 25-12, on the road behind Grace Burgoyne (2 aces, 16 kills), Olivia Flaherty (4 aces, 6 kills), Emily Breen (8 aces, 5 kills), Sofia Danick (10 service points, 5 aces, 20 assists) and Ava Orlando (6 digs).

South Shore Tech 3, Bristol Aggie 1: Gemma Geisler served 29 of 31 with 8 aces and added 11 kills and 25 digs as the Vikings (8-0) rallied after dropping the first set. Aly Traynor served 13 of 14 and had 30 digs, and Hannah Nota added 11 kills.

Whitman-Hanson 3, Silver Lake 0: Junior Bailey Kelly had 5 kills in the third set to power the Panthers (6-4, 4-4 Patriot League). Sophomore Caroline Gray also played well.

Duxbury 3, Hingham 0: The Green Dragons won, 25-22, 25-13, 25-22. Kate DiBartolomeo played well for Hingham.

Scituate 3, Hanover 1: Bella Pineau (7 kills, 3 blocks) and Tess Madden (5 kills, 3 aces, 5 digs, block) starred for Hanover in the loss.

Quincy 3, Pembroke 2: The Presidents edged the Titans in Patriot League action.

Milton Academy 3, Thayer Academy 0: The Mustangs swept the Tigers, 25-12, 25-21, 25-20.

BOYS GOLF

Scituate 250, North Quincy 281: At Widow's Walk on Senior Day the Sailors (10-1, 8-1 Patriot League) were led by Zach Fernandes (39), Isaac Breitenstein (40), Will Noble (42), Andrew Belsan (43), Ryan Martin (43) and Stephen Marshall (43).

Oliver Ames 147, Sharon 169: Junior captain Sean Kearns was medalist with a round of 1-under 33 that included three birdies to lead the Tigers (8-0) to a win at Pine Oaks. Senior captain Daniel Paul (37), Michael McGinnis (38) and David Rodgers (39) also played well.

Bridgewater-Raynham 128, New Bedford 52: Liam Barry was low medalist with a 38 to earn 25 points in Stableford scoring for B-R (7-2) at Whaling City Golf Course. Pat Concannon (40), Justin Peters (41) and Jack Gentile (42) also starred.

Norwell 113, Abington 99: Senior captain Griffin Link was the medalist for the Clippers (9-2) with a 5-over 40 at Scituate Country Club.

Hanover 241, Quincy 290: Matt Reynolds (36), Owen Barth (37) and Chris Doherty (38) played well for the Hawks. Teddy Lynch (44) was Quincy's low scorer.

Carver 103, Cohasset 98: Ryan Vincent was the medalist for the Crusaders with a 1-over-par 37.

East Bridgewater 129, Mashpee 84: Cole Redder shot an even-par 35 for the Vikings (8-0).

Braintree 90, Newton North 76: Senior Nick Fasano shot 1-over 35 to lead the Wamps (4-4) at Brae Burn Country Club.

Marshfield 237, Duxbury 237: The Rams won a tiebreaker, 42-44, led by sophomore J.D. Ambrose, who shot 38.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Weymouth splits: The Wildcats (3-3) beat Braintree, 15-44, and lost to Needham, 28-28 in a tiebreaker. Weymouth's Grace Richard was first overall in 18:49 over 3.05 miles at Braintree. Leah Galvin (4th, 19:01), Izzy Galusha (5th, 19:11), Kate Carnes (7th, 19:39) and Meg Connolly (11th, 20:05) also ran well.

Bridgewater-Raynham 15, Brockton 50: Camden Strandberg, Sydney O’Donnell, Brenna Woodbury, Nethica Auguste and Kate Lambert were the top five finishers for B-R (5-0). Shania and Skyla Gardiner ran well for the Boxers in the loss.

Norwell 21, East Bridgewater 34: Hallie Robitaille won the race, and teammates Monica Smith and Meredith Cassidy finished 3-4 to lead the Clippers to a victory.

Stoughton 21, Canton 34: Johanna Bouwmeester (24:18) was fourth overall for Canton.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Rockland 28, Carver 31: Harrison Holbrook was Rockland's top finisher in second place overall while Luca Bahnik (fifth) and Mike Caron (sixth) also ran well.

Canton 16, Stoughton 46: Luke Darling (18:54), Sam Vail, Austin DiBiasio and Dom Gray swept the top four spots for the Bulldogs in the 5K race. Also, Maks Alves ran a new personal best.

Norwell 21, East Bridgewater 38: Norwell's Thomas Corbett won the race with EB's Nick Uzzo in second. Norwell's Connor Reidy and Sam Foster finished 3-4.

Bridgewater-Raynham 26, Brockton 29: James Murray, Jack Alves, Brian Peters, Connor Donahue and Dan Leet led B-R (2-0) to the win. Robbie Moyes, Asher Miller, and Liam Rizzo ran well for the Boxers in the loss.
