HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Jace Clady's hat trick fires Cape Tech to sixth straight win

The Cape Tech boys soccer team won its sixth game in a row, defeating Old Colony, 5-0, on Tuesday.

Jace Clady's hat trick made him the leading goal scorer on the night for the Crusaders. Jason Neira and Andrew Montero added a goal apiece to seal the victory.

Fabricio Camero played well in goal for the Crusaders, and kept a clean sheet.

Boys Soccer

South Shore 2, Upper Cape 1: Missed opportunities proved costly for the Rams. Sophomore captain Gideon Drury did find the back of the net for the Rams in the loss.

Barnstable 2, Falmouth 1: The Clippers were first to score in this game but the Red Hawks turned around the score to win. Luiz Teixeria scored the equalizer for Barnstable, then Kaike DeCarvalho scored the winner with his first goal of the season.

Martha's Vineyard 4, Sandwich 1: Four second-half goals enabled the Vineyarders to turn around a 1-0 first-half deficit. Daniel Oman scored the lone goal for the Blue Knights.

Girls Soccer

Saint John Paul II 4, Monomoy 1: Teagan Forde had a first-half hat trick for the Lions and also set up Raegan Dillon for the opener in the victory. The win clinches a tournament berth for the Lions.

Martha's Vineyard 3, Sandwich 1: Paige Malowski opened the scoring for the Vineyarders in the win. Elena Giordano and Emily Coogan scored the other two goals for Martha's Vineyard. Sandwich's goal came via Megan Jakubicka.

Nauset 7, Dennis-Yarmouth 0: Georgie Orlandella scored a hat trick for the Warriors in their win over the Dolphins. They also got doubles from Olivia Avellar and Sammy McIsaac to help aid the win.

Old Colony 8, Cape Tech 1: The Crusaders were beaten by Old Colony.

Upper Cape 2, South Shore Voke 0: The Rams got the victory over South Shore.

Boys Golf

Bourne 256, Seekonk 294: The Canalmen beat Seekonk to clinch a berth in the State Qualifying Tournament, at Ledgemont Country Club. Ryan Burgess shot a 41 to lead Bourne on the day and both Griffin Kelly and Luca Finton came in one stroke back with 42s.

Mashpee 88, Cohasset 86: The Falcons beat Cohasset.

Saint John Paul II 3 ½, Sturgis East 2 ½: Medalist honors on the day were shared by both the Navigators' Mya Murphy, and the Lions' Jack Carstensen, who both shot a 38 at Bayberry Hills Golf Course's Links course.

Nauset 240, Dennis-Yarmouth 294: Jack Cronin was the medalist and shot a 34 to help fire the Warriors past the Dolphins at Dennis Highlands. Jack Martin also came in with a score in the 30's, shooting a 37. Cam Dupee's 41 led the way for the Dolphins.

Monomoy 4, Cape Cod Academy 2: The Sharks earned the victory over Cape Cod Academy.

Girls Cross Country

Barnstable 18, Sandwich 39: The Red Hawks remained undefeated to start the season after beating the Blue Knights. Barnstable runners finished in the top four places and seven out of the top 12 finishes.  Ava Bullock finished first with a time of 20:22, and behind her came Lilly DeDecko (21:39). Chloe Dibb finished in third (22:22), and Callie DeDecko followed up in fourth (24:30).

Boys Cross Country

Barnstable 20, Sandwich 41: Juniors Jeremy Bullock and Jaxson Merrill finished in a tie for first with a time of 18:51 to help Barnstable beat Sandwich. The Blue Knights' Harry Glover finished third with a time of 19:54.

Field Hockey

Monomoy 0 Cohasset 0: The Sharks played out a scoreless draw with Cohasset.
