HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Louissaint leads Weymouth past North Quincy in Adams Classic final

Tournament MVP Edric Louissaint had 14 points and 5 rebounds Friday night to lead the Weymouth High boys basketball team to a 53-49 win over host North Quincy in the championship game of the Adams Holiday Classic.

Junior guard Gill Dolan, who was named to the all-tournament team, added 10 points for the Wildcats (4-3), who trailed 27-19 at halftime and 37-32 after three quarters.

North Quincy (4-1) was led by senior guard Zach Taylor (13 points), senior forward Joe Bates (10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks) and sophomore guard Kobe Nguyen (10 points, 6 assists). Taylor was named to the all-tournament team.

Braintree 54, Quincy 47: Theo Moore scored 15 points and Barry Joseph added 9 as the Wamps (3-3) won the consolation game of the Adams Holiday Classic at North Quincy. Quincy (0-5) was led by Christian Monteiro-Spagnolo and Manny Aguayo, who each had 11 points. Braintree's James Tellier and Quincy's Danny Adams were named to the all-tournament team.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Whitman-Hanson 60, Alabama Christian 36: Freshman Isaiah Bean Britain scored 12 points, and senior captain Cam Burrows added 10 as the Panthers (3-2) won in the consolation round of the Mount Dora Christian Academy Holiday tournament in Mount Dora, Florida. Sophomore Ryan Baker, who scored 32 points in the two games, was named to the all-tournament team.

Needham 76, Hingham 61: Liam McBride and Chase Mello each scored 20 points, but the Harbormen lost in the final of the Westwood Holiday Tournament. McBride was named to the all-tournament team.

Norwell 70, Sandwich 40: Matt Leaver scored 30 points, and Connor O’Hare added 14 for the Clippers in the non-league win.

Hull 57, South Shore Tech 22: Seniors Tyler Sordillo (15 points) and Tommy Burke (11 points) led the Pirates to a non-league home win.

Cohasset 48, Medway 40: The Skippers (4-1) won a non-league game.

Bedford 77, Stoughton 68 (2 OT): Jayden Costa-Haywood scored 39 points for the Black Knights in the loss.

Middleboro 59, Apponequet 44: Jacob Briggs scored 21 points and Matt Youngquist added 17 for the Sachems (3-3) in the road win.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Cardinal Mooney 62, Whitman-Hanson 43: Caitlin Leahy recorded her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds, plus 5 assists, but the Panthers (3-2) lost in the second round of the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational in Florida.

Needham 63, Weymouth 51: Junior Meg Doyle had 16 points and 22 rebounds for the Wildcats in the loss. Senior Emma Desmond added 9 points.

Middleboro 39, Apponequet 24: Hailey Iwanski scored 11 points for the Sachems (5-3) in the win.

Seekonk 45, West Bridgewater 38: The Wildcats lost at home.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake 4, West/East Bridgewater 2: Brooke Hohmann scored twice to break open a 2-2 tie in the third period for WHSL (3-2). Jules Connor and Caitlin Dilley also scored in the win. Lauren McPherson had two goals for WEB (1-4-1).

Milton 6, Ursuline 0: Sarah McGillivray scored twice, and Molly Murphy, Ellie McConville, Nayeli Thayer and Dory O’Toole added goals for the Wildcats (5-1). Goaltender Lila Chamoun had a 23-save shutout.

Scituate 7, Nantucket 1: Kiera Modder and Audrey Martin each had a pair of goals and an assist as the Sailors (2-3) won at home. Maggie Lovering (2 assists), Grace O’Shaughnessy and Gridska Flynn also scored.

Canton 3, Pembroke 1: The Bulldogs beat the Titans in the first round of the Judy Gormley Classic at Gallo Arena in Bourne. Maria Cantino scored for Pembroke.

BOYS HOCKEY

Canton 5, Wakefield 3: Jack Digirolamo scored twice, and Teddy Shuman (first of his varsity career), Jeffrey Chaput Colin Blake added goals for the host Bulldogs (5-0).

Bourne 3, West/East Bridgewater 2: Luke Parry and Kaleb Silva staked WEB (3-2) to a 2-0 lead heading into the third period, but Bourne rallied for the win.

Southeastern/Bristol-Plymouth 3, Norton 3: Dan Manning scored with 3 seconds left to lift the Hawks (1-1-1) into a tie.

Bishop Stang 3, Blue Hills 1: The Warriors (2-5) lost at Canton Ice House.

Governor's Academy 2, Thayer Academy 1: Josh Halliday had the lone goal for the Tigers.
