HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Marshfield boys soccer rallies to tie Hingham on road

Cody Holbert scored off a header following a corner kick late in the second half Tuesday to lift the Marshfield High boys soccer team to a 2-2 road tie with Patriot League rival Hingham.

Fionn Hamilton had the other goal for Marshfield (0-1-1), converting from the penalty spot.

BOYS SOCCER

Pembroke 4, North Quincy 0: Shane Crowley, Matt McAuliffe, Andre Gleason and Ethan Sullivan (three assists) led the way for the undefeated Titans (3-0). Jacky Taylor and Jack Eva combined for the shutout.

Plymouth North 1, Silver Lake 0: Ben Young scored, assisted by Dom Sorensen, to lift the Blue Eagles (2-0). Liam Hewins, Kevin Riley and goalkeeper Josh Bates also starred for North.

Hanover 2, Plymouth South 1: Juneau Mofford and James McDermod each scored his first career varsity goal to lead the Hawks (2-0-1, 2-0) to a Patriot League win.

Weymouth 1, Braintree 0: The Wildcats (4-0) won a Bay State Conference road game.

New Bedford 3, Bridgewater-Raynham 0: The Trojans lost on the road. Connor Nichols played well in goal, and Aiden Fitzgerald had a strong game on defense.

Duxbury 4, Whitman-Hanson 2: Henry O'Brien and Jared Campbell each scored his first varsity goal, and Conor Bohan and Noah Eggers also found the net for the Green Dragons (3-0).

GIRLS SOCCER

Bridgewater-Raynham 8, New Bedford 1: Lily Ford scored twice, and the host Trojans (2-1) got single goals from Lily Giurleo, Breanna Reid, Hayley Fortune, Abby Heart, Carissa Murray and Lila Wilcox. Isabella Johnson, Riley Connors, Jessica Davis and Zoe Denune were strong defensively in front of goalkeepers Cori Cahill and Mia Tierney.

Plymouth North 1, Silver Lake 0: In a rematch of last year's Div. 2 state semifinal, Brooke Finlay netted the winner with eight minutes to play. Amelia Finley recorded a clean sheet in net.

Duxbury 4, Whitman-Hanson 1: Parker Metzler, Beth Yucius, Morgan Cheverie and Ana Mundy scored for the Dragons. Olivia Godwin scored for the Panthers.

Hingham 5, Marshfield 0: Sophie Reale scored twice, Bridgette Harrington, Emily Gibbons and Maddie Aughe added goals for the Harborwomen (2-0-2).

Weymouth 3, Braintree 1: Ella Scalisi, Anna Rice and Maddie Palmer scored for the Wildcats (2-0).

Canton 5, Sharon 2: Emily McCabe scored four goals and Emma Cahill also scored for the Bulldogs (2-0-1) in their home opener. Alyssa Wong had two assists.

Milton 0, Wellesley 0: The Wildcats (1-1-1) played to a scoreless tie at home.

FIELD HOCKEY

Carver 2, East Bridgewater 0: The Crusaders (2-0-1) won the South Shore League game behind goals from Ava Camelo and Jenna Newell. Goalkeeper Ali Perry (3 saves) posted the shutout with strong defense from Izzy Mercer, Ashleigh Johnson, Jenna Newell and Alli Thomas.

Norwell 1, Middleboro 1: Sophomore Paige Maguire scored for Norwell in the South Shore League tie.

BOYS GOLF

East Bridgewater 113, Norwell 85: The Vikings improved to 4-0 as Jake Redder was the match medalist. Matt Werra and Luke Parry also played well.

Duxbury 226, Pembroke 266: Zach Hamilton (36), Devin Kenneally (37), Tom Greenwood (37), Andrew Curley (38), Owen Hamilton (39) and Peter Evans (39) led the way for Duxbury. Matt Bergamesca was the low scorer for the Titans (4-2).

Abington 133, Rockland 104: Hunter Grafton (26 points), Jacob Quinn (24) and Jonathan Halpin (23) led the way for the Green Wave. Shawn Boostrom scored 24 for Rockland.

Archbishop Williams 175, St. Mary's (Lynn) 153: Andrew Marcotte (32 points) and Brady Sullivan (30) led the way for the Bishops (4-0).

Braintree 99, Brookline 87: Freshman Pete Brooks shot 1-over 37, and sophomore Jack McDonough was at 2-over 38 as the Wamps (2-0) won at Braintree Municipal Golf Course.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Marshfield 15, Whitman-Hanson 50: In the home loss, Logan Bourgelas (18:47) was the top finisher for the Panthers (1-1) on their 5K course.

BC High 27, St. John's (Shrewsbury) 30: The Eagles won their Catholic Conference opener. This past weekend at the MSTCA Relays at Highland Park in Attleboro, BC High won the varsity junior/senior division, led by Will Locke of Braintree, Chris Larnard of Scituate, and Hugh Licklider of Newton.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Marshfield 18, Whitman-Hanson 37: Sophomores Eleanor Angeles-Whitfield (19:19), Ava Brunswick (20:05) and Charlotte Perreault (20:28) finished 1-2-3 for the Rams in the victory at W-H's 5K course. Sophomore McKenna McCarthy (20:31) placed fourth for the host Panthers (0-2).

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Weymouth 3, Braintree 2: The Wildcats edged the Wamps on the road.

Archbishop Williams 3, St. Mary's (Lynn) 2: The Bishops won, 25-19, 15-25, 25-20, 24-26, 15-10.

Holbrook 3, South Shore Christian Academy 0: The Bulldogs won in straight games.
