HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Martha's Vineyard girls soccer qualifies for MIAA playoffs.

The Martha's Vineyard High girls soccer team beat the Dennis-Yarmouth Dolphins, 7-0, on Tuesday.

Josie Welch handed out three assists and added a goal of her own, as the Vineyarders (8-3-1) got the big win.  Caroline Jane Walsh also had a big night for Martha's Vineyard. She tallied two assists and a goal herself.

Talia Macaferri and Eleanor Mone, each scored twice, and Ali Dyke was the other goal scorer on the day.

Girls Soccer

Sturgis West 6, Cape Cod Academy 1: Senior Lauren Farrell was everywhere for the Navigators in the win. Not only did she score a hat trick herself, she also set up an additional two goals. Freshman Jocelyn DeMedeiros had three assists as well. Jenna Marsh scored the  only goal for the Seahawks (6-5), and Lili Shanahan had 28 saves.

Monomoy 5, Rising Tide 0: Kenyatta Pigo-Cronin had  two goals to lead the Sharks (7-4-1) over Rising Tide. Riley Hesse, Karlie Monteiro, and Megan Gabri scored the other three goals in the win.

St. John Paul II 7, Nantucket 1: Teagan Forde had a hat trick for the Lions who improved to 11-1. Devin Crofford, Ella Cheney, Michaela Enright and Raegan Dillon each also found the net in the win.

Mashpee 3, Middleboro 0: The Falcons (6-5-1) got the win over Middleboro. Hailey Garcia scored twice, and Anna Cannistraro added the third with just minutes to go off a direct free kick.

Nauset 1, Sandwich 0: The Warriors improved to 10-1-1 after beating the Blue Knights (4-5-2). Pepper Escher  had her sixth clean sheet of the year, and Caroline Kennard scored the winner for Nauset.

South Shore Tech 9, Cape Tech 0: The Crusaders dropped to 0-9 after losing to South Shore Tech.

Upper Cape 8, Bristol Aggie 1: The Rams got the win over Bristol Aggie, improving to 4-5-3.

Dartmouth 6, Barnstable 0: The Red Hawks fell to Dartmouth, dropping Barnstable's record to 0-13-1.

Boys Soccer

Middleboro 3, Mashpee 2: The Falcons lost a close game to Middleboro at home.

Falmouth Academy 3, Cape Cod Academy 2: The Mariners (4-5) edged out the Seahawks in a tight game. Cape Cod Academy fell to 0-10.

Monomoy 7, Rising Tide 1: The Sharks won big over Rising Tide, and improve to 6-1-3 this season.

Nantucket 2, Barnstable 2: The Red Hawks opened the scoring with two first-half goals. In the second half the Whalers came back with two of their own to steal a point. The first from Jose Alcaron, and the second was a penalty kick from Treyce Brannigan. Sophomore Edin Vasquez saved a second-half Barnstable penalty early in the second half, and came up with more saves late in the game to preserve the tie.

Nauset 7, Sandwich 0: The Warriors traveled to Sandwich and beat the Blue Knights to improve to 8-2. Sandwich drops to 1-8-1.

Martha’s Vineyard 2, Dennis-Yarmouth 1: The Vineyarders improved to 8-3-1 after topping the Dolphins (1-7-2).

Field Hockey

St. John Paull II 3, Carver 0: The Lions got the win over Carver to improve to 2-2-3. In goal, Lili Crofford had her first shutout of the season for the Lions. Mia Curley, Sophie Stanley, and Kaylee Anthony were the goal scorers for the Lions in the win.

Monomoy 6, Sturgis East 0: The Sharks (7-2-3) got the win over the Storm (3-3-1) on Senior night.

Falmouth 3, Notre Dame Academy (Hingham) 0: The Clippers got the win over Notre Dame Academy and improved to 7-1-2.

Boys Golf

Sandwich 238, Falmouth 292: The Blue Knights improved to 15-2 after beating the Clippers at the Ridge Club. James Murray was the medalist for Sandwich with a 36, and  Mitch Norkavicious and Blaise Chitigny both chipped in a 39.

Cape Cod Academy 4.5, Rising Tide 2.5: The Seahawks got the win over Rising Tide at Hyannisport Golf Club.

St. John Paul II 4, Monomoy 2: Timmy Adams was one of three Lions to shoot in the 30s as they beat the Sharks at Cranberry Valley in Harwich. Adams shot an even 36, while junior captain Jack Carstensen shot a 38, and freshman Sam Scioletti added a 39. Monomoy's Casey Huse and Cam Reeves both shot a 39 and won their individual matches for the Sharks.

Dighton-Rehoboth 264, Bourne 289: The Canalmen dropped to 10-6 after falling to Dighton-Rehoboth at Hillside Golf Club. Owen Surrette led the way for Bourne in the loss with a 45, and Griffin Kelly came in one shot behind him with a 46.

Barnstable 242, Dennis-Yarmouth 307: Chad Tordone was the medalist for the Red Hawks, shooting a one-over 37 at Dennis Pines par 36. The rest of the Barnstable golfers all finished with scores under 43 on the day. Daniel Julian and Cam Dupee led the way for the Dolphins with a 44, and 45 respectively.

Girls Volleyball

Dennis-Yarmouth 3, Nantucket 0: The Dolphins (10-3) swept the Whalers (25-15, 25-7, 25-18), handing Nantucket (9-1) its first loss of the season. Grace Presswood notched another double-double in the win with 17 kills and 16 digs.Vivian Castano had 35 assists. Mariah Eaton played a huge role defensively with six blocks, and Ellen Swanson added 11 kills. Kacey Riseborough had seven kills in the loss for Nantucket.

Falmouth 3, Mashpee 1: The Clippers (2-9) got the win over the Falcons (2-10). Maci Griesbauer has 12 aces in the match, to go along with 15 kills. Christina Femino had 23 assists in the win.

Boys Cross Country

Barnstable 22, Falmouth 37: Despite Falmouth's Henry Gartner winning the race with a time of 17:34, the Red Hawks runners took second, third and fourth to help Barnstable improve to 4-0. Jeremy Bullock ran a 17:40, Jaxson Merrill placed third with a 17:49, and Gabe Pichardo came in 4th with a new personal best 18:09.

Dennis-Yarmouth 20, Sandwich 39: The Dolphins boys cross country team bested the Blue Knights.

Monomoy def. Sturgis East via tiebreaker: The Monomoy boys won on a tiebreaker, but Shane Stanghellini set the course record with a 15:04.

Girls Cross Country

Monomoy 15, Sturgis East 50: The Sharks bested the Storm.

Barnstable 15, Falmouth 50: Ava Bullock won the race with a 19:54 time as the Barnstable girls improved to 4-0.

Dennis-Yarmouth 15, Sandwich 47: The Dolphins beat the Blue Knights.
