HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Mashpee boys basketball scores win on Senior Night

The Mashpee Middle-High School boys basketball team celebrated Senior Night with a 55-49 win over Monomoy Regional High School.

The Falcons broke the game open in the fourth quarter before the Sharks (5-12) rallied, but ultimately Mashpee prevailed.

Jack Spencer led the way in the win with 17 points and three 3-pointers in the win while Ryan Triveri added 16 points. Dantae Clarke flirted with a triple-double with 7 points, 8 blocks and 8 rebounds.

Braden Fraser (7 points) and Sean Fancher (6 points) also contributed to the win.

Jackson Rocco scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the loss for the Sharks (5-12).

St. John Paul II 53, Sturgis East 21: The Lions improve to 13-3.

Diman 44, Nantucket 18: The Whalers fall to 2-15.

Mashpee 66, Monomoy 49: Melissa Velasques (15 points) and Lucy Mawn (10) led the way in the loss for the Sharks. Hialeah Turner Foster scored a game-high 24 points while Amiyah Peters added 21. Stella Stecei scored 9 points and grabbed 10-plus rebounds.

Track and Field

Division 5 State Meet: The Dennis-Yarmouth girls were the highest local finisher, taking seventh while the Martha's Vineyard girls were 11th.

For D-Y, Rose Karow was second in the 600m. Breanna Braham placed in two different events (third in 55m, fourth in 300m. Karow was also on the 4x800m relay team with Madeline Webber, Megan McDowell and Maddie Edwards that placed seventh.

Martha's Vineyard's Camille Brand won the high jump and Adrienne Christy was the runner-up in the 2 mile. Daniel Serpa placed fourth in 1,000m for the Martha's Vineyard boys.
