HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Middleboro girls basketball defeats Abington in overtime

The Middleboro High girls basketball team defeated Abington, 53-47, in overtime on Friday.

Sophomores Jessica Perry (15 points) and Sophia Moxley (10) led the way for the Sachems (8-7). Lila Peddie chipped in 9 points.

Ella Williamson scored 19 points for Green Wave (8-7, 3-6 South Shore League). Rebecca Rix and Savvy Eriksen each added 9 points, and Ava Williamson chipped in with 6. Kenzie Litzenberger had 13 rebounds.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Westport 48, Avon 11: Hanelie Cadet scored 6 points for the Panthers in the loss.

South Shore Tech 41, Old Colony 35: Mia Bradshaw drained a career-high four 3-pointers to finish with 16 points for the Vikings (11-2). Rose Earner (11 points) and Abby Pattison (9) also chipped in.

Plymouth North 52, Whitman-Hanson 45: Jenna Cappola exploded for 31 points in the win. Caitlin Leahy scored 16 points for the Panthers (9-5, 9-2 Patriot League) and Kennedy Frazier drained five 3-pointers en route to 15 points.

West Bridgewater 40, Holbrook 22: Eight different Wildcats scored in the win and Jenella Jacobs led the way with 14 points. Mia Harrington chipped in 9.

Blue Hills 39, Southeastern 32: Bella Sulfaro (18 points, 8 rebounds) and Kathleen Murphy (10 points, 10 rebounds) led the way for the Warriors (11-2).

Archbishop Williams 54, Cardinal Spellman 26: Spellman's Beyounce Okoh had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the loss. Lucy LaCara added 9 points.

Quincy 42, Plymouth South 24: The Presidents improve to 12-1.

Sharon 51, Stoughton 48: Kirsten McKay scored 17 points and Raina Tat had 16 in the loss.

Hull 43, Carver 40: The Pirates won on Senior Night as Lucy Peters and Elly Thomas each scored 10 points. Fallon Ryan added 9, and Margot Harper chipped in with 7.

Norwell 45, East Bridgewater 35: Sara Cashin (10 points), Chloe Richardson (9) and Ella McLoughlin (6) led the way for the Clippers. Phoebe Katilus (18 points) and Lily Pavidis (7 points) led EB (8-7).

Natick 49, Braintree 36: The Wamps lost the Bay State Conference game.

Duxbury 50, Silver Lake 48: Ava Welch sparked the Dragons with 13 points. Amanda Donovan and Skye Cerow both had double-doubles. Silver Lake's Kelsi Lanza scored a game-high 26 points.

Hanover 44, North Quincy 23: The Hawks (9-4) won the Patriot League game as Mary Kate Flynn finished with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 7 steals.

Marshfield 51, Hingham 50: The host Rams edged the Harborwomen in Patriot League action.

Foxboro 72, Oliver Ames 32: The Tigers lost at home in a Hockomock League game.

Pembroke 45, Scituate 43: The Titans edged the Sailors on the road in Patriot League action.

Mansfield 54, Canton 34: The Bulldogs dropped the Hockomock League game.

Brookline 59, Milton 36: The Wildcats lost the Bay State Conference game.

Framingham 75, Weymouth 41: Meg Doyle had a double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) in the loss and Larissa Gilberto added 10 points.

Fontbonne 56, Malden Catholic 47: Sophomore Jess Laflamme scored 7 of her 9 points in the fourth quarter to give the Ducks (8-3) a lift. Alix Abelard, Colleen Fogarty and Maggie Bedard all finished with 10 points.

Notre Dame Academy 60, Ursuline 49: Freshman Elle Orlando hit five 3-pointers en route to 28 points for NDA. Sophomore Ava Orlando (12 points, 10 assists) and juniors Sofia Danick (10 points), Lola Paradis (7 points, 8 rebounds) and Jane Hilsabeck (strong defense) also contributed.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Archbishop Williams 80, Cardinal Spellman 62: Julian Sustache (18 points), Josh Campbell (13 points, 7 rebounds) and Tristan Rodriguez (17 points) lead the way for the Bishops (12-0).

Middleboro 67, Abington 58: Matt Youngquist scored a game-high 29 points for the Sachems (10-4) and Jacob Briggs flirted with a triple-double (16 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds). Hunter Maxwell (22 points, 7 rebounds) and Connor Pease (15 points, 13 rebounds, 6 blocks) played well for the Green Wave (6-8).

BC High 56, St. John's Prep 50: The Eagles won the Catholic Conference game.

Natick 60, Braintree 52: The Wamps (4-9) lost on the road.

Mansfield 69, Canton 43: Jamaal McConnell (14 points) and Matt Chafin (11) played well in the loss for the Bulldogs (7-6).

Carver 52, Hull 45: Tyler Lennox scored 18 points as the Crusaders (10-4) won a South Shore League game at home to clinch a playoff berth for the second straight season.

Rockland 45, Cohasset 44: Michael Moriarty scored 18 points to lead the Bulldogs (8-5) to a South Shore League home win.

Duxbury 74, Silver Lake 36: Tate Fiedler and Trevor Jones both scored 20 points in the win for the Dragons while Andrew Curley added 9.

Norwell 48, East Bridgewater 34: Matt Leaver led the way with 21 points for the Clippers. Nick Adams (12 points) and Jackson Adams (11) also contributed to the win. Michael Oman scored 13 points for the Vikings (8-5).

North Quincy 57, Hanover 45: Zach Taylor led the way for the Raiders (10-4) with 35 points. Dylan Clifford (11 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks) and Kobe Nguyen (7 points, 11 rebounds 3 assists) also played well. Charlie Carroll scored 21 points for the Hawks (6-6).

Hingham 72, Marshfield 63: Connor McCann (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Liam McBride (20 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists) had double-doubles in the win. Noah Manning and Danny Kent played well in the fourth quarter.

West Bridgewater 64, Holbrook 54: Armani Perkins scored 19 points and Owen Burke added 14, but the Wildcats (9-2) lost at home. Allen Brown (9 points) and Jalik Fernades (8 points) also contributed.

Scituate 67, Pembroke 43: Jimmy Tolton (19 points) and Dawit Quilty (17 points, 12 rebounds) starred for the Sailors (10-3). Kyle Mullen grabbed 10 rebounds and Michael Porter scored 11 points. Joey Dwyer led Pembroke with 14 points.

Whitman Hanson 51, Plymouth North 40: Freshman Isaiah Bean Brittian (18 points, 11 rebounds) and sophomore Ryan Baker (17 points, 10 rebounds) recorded double-doubles for the Panthers (9-5, 8-3) in the Patriot League road win. Senior captain Drew Daley hit three big 3-pointers and finished with 11 points. Senior captains Cole Champignie and Cam Burrows were defensive standouts. North (4-10) was led by Ivan Darko (9 points) and Nick Marcel (8).

Plymouth South 54, Quincy 40: Declan Davis led the way for the Panthers (9-3) with 15 points and 6 assists. Justin LaChance added 11 points and Jaime Andrews finished with 8.

Old Colony 51, South Shore Tech 46: Jesse Lyons finished an assist shy of a triple-double (19 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists) in the loss for the Vikings (4-9). Brandon LaFleur added 12 points and 9 assists.

Sharon 77, Stoughton 61: Nate Figaro (16 points), Eli Conner (12) and Obi Dike (12) played well in the loss.

Weymouth 61, Framingham 52: Edric Louissaint led the Wildcats (7-7) with 23 points.

GIRLS GYMNASTICS

Notre Dame Academy 136.6, Brockton/East Bridgewater 130.5: Katie McCormack won the all-around (35.8) and all four events – vault (9.2), bars (8.6), beam (9.0), floor (9.0) – for host NDA. Sophia Chavez took second on bars (8.5) and floor (8.7). Lily DeGiacomo was second on beam (8.5).

Scituate 131.45, Plymouth North/South 122.9: Scituate's Ciara Hughes won bars (8.8) and beam (8.5), tied for first on floor with Plymouth's Sam Ohlson (8.7), and finished second in vault to Ohlson (8.8 to 8.7).
