High school roundup: Moniz and Cobban help Sandwich girls lacrosse to sixth straight win
Claire Moniz and Ryann Cobban each scored four goals and dished an assist for the Sandwich Blue Knights as they beat the Silver Lake Lakers 16-5 in girls lacrosse action on Tuesday.
Riley Morrison finished with three goals, Emma MacPherson and Kolbie Darmon each added 2 goals, Sophia Visceglio ended with a goal and an assist and Maria Hurley had 6 saves in net for Sandwich (17-1-1).
Cape Cod Academy 18, Martha's Vineyard 3: Ella Bartolomei was the catalyst for the Seahawks (12-4), tallying seven goals and five assists in the win. The Seahawks also got standout performances from Tilly Crosby and Mavis O'Neill who had three goals each, and Jenna Marsh in net, who had eight saves.
Monomoy 17, Plymouth South 7: Lucy Mawn scored eight goals, which gave her 104 on the season, and added two assists and eight draw controls for the Sharks in a win over the Panthers.
Kate Gabri finished with six goals, Susannah Brown added two goals, Karah Deveau had a goal and two assists, and Evie Sheeran and Victoria Lentendre combined to make seven saves in goal for Monomoy (13-4-0).
Nauset 12, Dennis Yarmouth 10: The Warriors improved to 4-12 after beating the Dolphins (5-12) on Senior Day.
Falmouth 12, Nantucket 11: The Clippers edged out a victory over the Whalers to improve to 11-6.
Lexington 17, Barnstable 6: The Red Hawks fell in their matchup against Lexington to drop to 5-13.
BOYS LACROSSE:
Sandwich 10, Bridgewater-Raynham 4: Avery Richardson scored four goals for the Blue Knights in a win over the Trojans. Matt DiGiacomo had two goals and an assist, Tim Souza and Cole Rogers each had a goal and an assist, Avery Richardson and Anthony Kent each added a goal, Shane Corcoran had 14 saves and Connor Stack won 11 out of 18 faceoffs for Sandwich (15-3-0).
Nantucket 19, Dennis-Yarmouth 2: The Whalers got the victory over the Dolphins to jump to 8-9.
Southeastern 16, Cape Tech 1: The Crusaders were beaten by Southeastern, dropping to 4-12.
Sturgis 13, Tri-County Reg. 5: Sturgis (9-4) beat Tri-County Reg. to secure its ninth victory of the season.
